Not sure how you can be a fake TO team. Georgia Southern hasn't run the triple option since 2013. Coach Elliot has never played Georgia Southern as a triple option or even a spread option team. The only two times he's played us, we've been some weird combination of pitch plays and short passes.

So his track record vs actual triple option teams isn't all that great.

I don't care what you call it, there was enough pitching and optioning to wreck traditional defenses. Especially in 2014 and 2015.

In 2015 ya'll got a heavy dose of Power most of the game.

RE: Georgia State vs Kennesaw
There is a reason G5 schools don't often schedule the Citadel's and Wofford's of the world. I wasn't excited we had El Cid on our schedule in 2015 and we ended up beating them 48-13 - so what do I know?

With that said, this Kennesaw team will likely be better than that Citadel team we played in 2015. They won 12 games in a row last season and GaSt is historically bad in season openers (having won 1 in the last 7 years, a squeaker against Abilene Christian). I'm not saying Ga State is going to be a bad team, but I don't like this matchup in week 1.

I actually give you guys a better chance of beating WMU in week 4 than beating Kennesaw in week 1.

In 2014-15, we ran the spread option out of the shotgun under Fritz.

Our new OC this season is the man who helped Fritz develop that offense at Sam Houston State 04-cheers

In Neal Brown's first year, we beat Chadwell's #8 Charleston Southern team. Don't remember the final score, but it was 44-7 with two or three minutes left in the game. I could see this game going a lot of ways. GSU's defense tends to play a lot of linebackers, so that might help.

He's only coached against us one time so far.

Not counting all the times he was OL coach at App.

Congrats, the fact the last game was even close was a joke with the coaching we had.

Love the fact the only other person on the planet that is more or as delusional about GaSt than you is going out of his way to motivate KSU players with the most asinine tweets in the world. Ben Moore just does not know how to stay out of his own way....03-lmfao Yeah lets give the team that just made a NC run that is right down the street that runs offense we rarely see, whose players played against a lot of our players in HS some bulletin board material...genius stuff right there. IF you lose it is almost like your fan base and media begged for it.

I was going to bring up App but his OL coaching had little to do with defending the option.

It would be cool to see GSU lose (hehe) but it wouldnt really be as cool as when they lost to TN State last year. Or to Abilene Christian that time. KSU is respectable so if the Owls pull the upset it wouldnt be as much of a "Ha-Ha" moment.

RE: Georgia State vs Kennesaw
This stuff that what Willie Fritz and Bob DeBesse do isn't a "real" option offense has never made sense to me. We run the ball a lot and incorporate a lot of option plays.

The real problem with using 2016 and 2017 as barometers is having offensive coordinators and OL coaches who had never run the type of offense they were asked to run by a supremely incompetent head coach.

All that aside, I'm expecting a low-scoring game where turnovers and special teams can make the difference.

20th in FCS, 133rd overall. 5th in the Colonial League. Bad loss. No other way around it.

Obviously not in FBS. The original quote was saying that losing to a "respectable" opponent (even in the FCS) is not as much of a "ha-ha moment".
