Late in the season, we would have dropped a 50 on Navy.
Navy's final ranking (Massey Composite): 45
Ranking of teams on whom FAU dropped a 50: 112, 65, 83, 89
Heck, teams on whom FAU dropped 40: 104, 76
Teams better than FAU that Navy played: Memphis, ND, UCF. NO 50s
Any 50s on Navy all year? No.
So probably not.
Navy lost to freaking Army!
And FAU dropped 69 on a team that beat Army.
FAU lost to freaking Navy! lol
In the first game of the new coaching staff with a wrong QB and missing both top WRs. And then we went on a ten game winning streak.
Most of that conference play

Congrats to our neighbors up north in the ranking! That's good for them and for the conference as a whole. Congrats!

We beat the following teams that were ranked during 2017:
Memphis
Memphis
Navy (who slaughtered FAU)
USF
AUBURN

Army Navy is pretty much the quintessential throw-out-the-records rivalry. And there's not much to throw out - they had ten wins.
But you go double-transitive-property to refute what ACTUALLY happened on the field?!?
Hahahahahahaha.
You rampaged through CUSA beating teams with an average ranking of 91.
Navy and Wisconsin beat you by three scores.
Then you went on a winning streak against CUSA...that average ranking of 91 means the bottom quartile of FBS football.
Congrats though.
Hahahahahahaha
Edited an hour later: I'm not trying to be a jerk. You could say you'd have won the way you were playing later. I still would have pointed to the relative competition. You could say while you got better we were worse in Oct-Nov. I would have pointed to our 49-7 win over UVa in our bowl. Saying 50 is just silly.

We actually scored 69 on a team that was just 21 spots below you. (and then we added another 41 in the conference championship). So, 50 against Navy is not out of the question. 2 teams scored over 40 points against Navy. And they did not have quite the offense we did.
P.S. Wisconsin was ranked 7th, if I am not mistaken, when we met them and, they were ranked somewhere around there when the season ended. We actually did better (14-31) against them than the U did.
Late Edit: Not to be a stickler, but 91 is the third quartile.

I'd love it if UH scheduled a series with USM. Get on the phone make it happen.

Those calls have been made. Nobody but Tulane answered. So, there's at least 1 AAC school that's not chickenshit.

That will be up to you. We started the whole "Anyone, Anywhere, Anytime" thing. By 2025, your schedule will be full of new AAC market schools, like Old Dominion, UMass, and Rhode Island. And their fans will be on here lording it over all of us leftovers. Enjoy your evening.

A CUSA fan brought up Houston in post #2.
Then UCF in post #5.
Navy was first mentioned by AAC respondents in post #14, and no CUSA poster mentioned the mids until post #32, but at least four different fans of three different CUSA schools (including your own) mentioned Navy before I weighed in.
It seems that the damns given are greater than zero.
And no, but thank you for the generous offer.

RE: FAU Ranked #25 in SI Preseason Top 25
I think us CUSA members reserve the right to discuss our opinions of rankings of non CUSA schools, on our board. Positive or negative. I visit the AAC board periodically and try to post something constructive, when I do post. I don't see a lot of CUSA members going to the AAC board and getting into these type debates as I do AAC members coming over here doing this. Maybe I just haven't visited the right thread at the right time.
We all emphasize points that highlight our programs positives.
Houston, Memphis, UCF, Navy... you are damn fine programs and doing good things. LaTech, Southern Miss loves you guys. We always look at our schedule and know that is a W we'll be proud of:)

Bitter because I sometimes forget what the important things are in life. Still feels like our birthright was stolen from us. But you're right: bitterness is a weak, and ugly, response.
As for your second question, I don't dislike ODU. I was just predicting what is likely to happen. Tulane, Memphis, Tulsa, etc., used to be friendly, too, when we shared a conference. In my opinion, USM is the butt of a million AAC jokes. Not deserved in any form. I'm not going to hate them anymore. That's not the way. I won't forget the lack of respect we were shown by schools we once carried on our back, but I will forgive. That's mostly for me. I can't live what I consider to be a good life while carrying all this hate and bitterness. USM is not close to being the most important thing in my life, but I love my school and its history. I believe we will weather this storm like we have the last 100 years, and we will continue to grow and thrive. I wear my feelings on my sleeve at times. But I can love my school without wishing ill on others. If those schools are okay with their actions, then that's their call. USM will be fine.

Totally understand and personally i think you guys made your place in the history books and it can't be erased. Your old conference mates might have moved on to what they perceive is a better fit for them but you still have the conference mates that are trying to do their best and look up to you guys for leading them into the future. Might be getting too melodramatic/philosophical for a sports message board but thousands of cars cross a road everyday going to different destinations doesn't mean one car is better than the other or one destination is better than the other and it doesn't mean cars are better than the road, they are simply playing their role.Damn i feel old already. Anyways thank you Southern Miss, Marshall, Rice and UAB the four oldest pillars of the conference.

This conference doesn't suck that bad. We, as a conference, made some solid strides last season. We just need FAU to dominate, go to the NY6 bowl and win. OMG, that sounded so weird. FAU... dominate. 2 yeas ago, I would have never imagined this day:)

Oh please...are you done lathering them up? We aren't looking up to anyone, we are trying to make our own way. There's no big brothers, sages in our conference, we look at our conference mates as equals. USM and Marshall constantly complain about this being an inferior version of C-USA. Hard to have resect for a school when all they do is whine about how much better they are than everyone else. I am not looking for a move, I like our conference mates, but if a move makes sense then I am all for it. In the meantime I like where the conference is going as a whole. Stability can go a long way.
