Less than 3 weeks until C-USA & CFB are back in action. What are your expectations for your team this season? How many games does your coach need to win to stay around? How many for your coach to get an extension? Which coordinator should get the boot?
For UNT:
I think we need to win at least 6 games this season. Anything less than 6 & I expect heads to roll. Our DC is on extremely thin ice right now after giving up 35 PPG last season. I think we go 8-4 or 9-3 in the regular season. If everything goes our way, we could be looking at 10 or 11. Littrell is currently being worked on to sign another new contract and that should Ben finished up pretty soon. If we do well, we’re gonna have the fight of our lives hanging on to him. I do think we will win C-USA west again & Mason Fine will be a top 5 passer.

For me, Lambert needs to win no less than 8 games to retain his job. In reality, he can probably win 6 and keep his job.

I expect 2-3 wins, though another 1-11 campaign won't surprise me either. I hang all chances of success on the change at the OC position. Our offense has been pathetic pretty much our entire existence despite having some talented position players. Lambert was loyal to his friend for far too long. Mullen was absolutely terrible as an OC.

I penciled us in 3-9 the day the schedule came out.

Coach is going nowhere. Stuck with him.

Conference championship.

I am expecting another 11-3 campaign with losses at Oklahoma, at UCF, and at Marshall. I still expect us to host and win the conference championship and a Boca Raton Bowl against Turd State University with a score 75-7.

I'd be shocked if USM finished better than 7 wins (bowl game included) as we're having to replace our entire secondary, our stud RB, a majority of our WR as well as we still don't have an established/proven QB yet IMO. And to top it off it our players have no self control and will probably continue to lead D1 in dead ball personal fouls/unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.....but maybe those are the ones that graduated

I expect us to win the West. Yeah, we're replacing a lot of production from last year but we've got a LOT of depth at those positions we're replacing (WR/RB/DB).

If Tech doesn't win at least 8 games and appear in the conference championship game, it'll be a disappointing season.

I like to think we're going to improve from last year but I have no confidence in our defense whatsoever. I think 7-5 is reasonable. Too many shootouts. I hope I'm wrong

Anywhere from 4-6 wins and to derail someone in the West title’s path.

I'd say we hit 3 or 4 wins and have a new HC come Christmas.

Eight wins and a bowl game for the Monarchs.P

P.S. I'm one of few Monarch fans who see it this way -- but the others are hoping I'm right!

Expectations at Rice vary from 3-6 wins. I'm expecting about four. The only way the coach will be questioned after coming in to this mess is if he goes 0-13 and looks lost.

Best Scenario:

LA Tech will start off 7-0 (yes, including a win over LSU in BR), before dropping back to back games to FAU & Miss St in games 8 & 9. The Dogs finish the season 10-2 with wins over Rice, @ USM & WKU.

Of course anything can happen in a championship game, but I do expect LA Tech to beat FAU in a rematch for the CUSA title.

Worst Scenario:

LA Tech starts off 6-1 (includes loss to LSU), drops consecutive games to FAU & MSU, and then beats Rice, loses to USM and beats WKU to finish the regular season 8-4.

Both good scenarios. One obviously better than the other. I can see both.

Some are acting like replacing a QB is easy. LOL!

I'm hoping he's right but expecting to be bowl eligible. Or at least would be disappointed otherwise.

I agree. Total rebuild this year.

Just hoping to retain a decent core of our players after Lambert is fired.
