RE: Schedule Breakdown: Charlotte
Should Win

Fordham If Lambert loses this game it should be his last at Charlotte

50-50 Games

WKU Unfortunately for the Hilltoppers they may have finally missed on a HC

Will be underdogs but can win

Appy The tales of appy's uberness have been greatly exaggerated.
ODU ODU should be better, but last year's game makes me think we have a shot
FIU We seem to consistently snatch defeat from the jaws of victory against FIU but should be competitive
UMASS They improved as the year went on last year and should be better, but we could steal this one

Will be large underdogs

UAB I fear they will exact vengeance for last year's debacle
MT They have the talent to win the East
Southern Miss I remember last year, no way we improve that much
Tennessee Tennessee will be down again, but unfortunately we're not in a position to take advantage
Marshall Marshall will be battling MT and FAU for the East
FAU Favorite to win the conference, we are not

Appy The tales of appy's uberness have been greatly exaggerated. They were very talented the last couple of times we played them but i don't know how they'll fare this season and its okay to accept that your opponent is good.
ODU ODU should be better, but last year's game makes me think we have a shot I hope we are better but this being a home game for you folks will definitely shift the odds in your favor and i assume this will be a fight till the last min but not the kind of fight we have witnessed last season

You underestimate the stability and consistency that Satterfield has brought to App. That combined with an extremely good defense will be hard for a Lambert overcome.

I hate saying this because their fans are garbage and root for the Tarheels after football season but if the game is close, it's because we've improved vastly.

RE: Schedule Breakdown: Charlotte
They were 9-4 against what Phil Steele rated as the 130th schedule in the NCAA. They lost a ton off that team including a four year starting QB. They're better than us no doubt but they are far from a juggernaut. I'd pick them 4th in the East this year behind FAU, Marshall, and MT if they were in CUSA. I think that's a fair evaluation.

I don't think that evaluation is unfair and I think they are looking at similar season this year but the moment Lambert steps on that field against any good coach we are essentially down 21-0.

Which is why we were able to spot you guys 20 in the first quarter before claiming our 21-0 the rest of the way 03-wink

Miss playing you guys !!

That said, I still see Char getting 2 wins, but unlike the OP I’m not going to predict who suffers the losses. They can be opportunistic which can win you some games now and then.

Roll a 6 sided die for each game and if it comes up 6 then Charlotte FTW!

Guess that's better than rooting for the tarbabies during football season.

The truth cuts deep. Good try on the comeback but no one watches Tarheel football.

Yes it does, UNCC alums, especially those over 30, are notorious UNC-Ch fans.

If you're going to try to take a dig, get it right. They tended to pull for NCSU football when we didn't have a team.

CHeat football can't even fill it's own stadium (hence the reason they're reducing seating capacity right now).

You guys really like to punish yourselves, NCSU football is the story of a program with exceedingly high expectations each year, that puts has a dozen players drafted each year and loses at least four games every year. They're as bad or worse than UNC-CH, but with delusions of "this is our year".

I'd personally never root for UNC-CH, but who were these folks supposed to cheer for when we didn't have a football team play games until 2013?

Panthers.

During the Capel years of App basketball, which was the equivalent of no basketball, I only watched the NBA and pulled for the Hornets (also not great basketball).

Much like Jerry Richardson, App fans can do what they want the next 6 weeks based upon the revenue we've thrown your way.

This thread really fell apart early.

Lambert has a really good chance of not making it to Halloween. He is definitely gone by Thanksgiving. This will not be a good year on the field, but will be an important year for the program going forward.
