Massillon Washington is big right? Thats the only one in Ohio that's even close I assume.

Massillon seats about 19k and it's the biggest HS stadium in Ohio, complete with an indoor football facility right next to the stadium. Beautiful facility, compare it to Kent States... PICTURES

You have to go to Texas for those 25k seat stadiums.

Paul Brown Stadium holds 16k, hall of fame stadium holds 23k, Mollenkopf Stadium holds 15k. Those will be the biggest in Ohio.

Found this website while google searching Ohio HS football stadium capacities... It's pretty neat. They even have my high school's stadium up there, which was surprising considering I went to a rural middle-of-nowhere school.

Ohio Stadiums

According to this site, the top capacity HS Stadiums are as follows:

1. Paul Brown Tiger Stadium (Massillon): 16,884
2. Warren G. Harding Mollenkoff Stadium (Warren): 15,000
3. Arlin Field (Mansfield): 12,000
4. Robert C. Boulton Stadium (Parma): 11,423
5. Welcome Stadium (Dayton): 11,000

P.S. They also have university and professional football stadiums on the site as well, not just High Schools.

Also, didn't realize Mansfield had the third largest HS Stadium by reported capacity. My HS used to play the Tygers every year in football, so I'm quite familiar with that venue.

That’s Paul Brown Stadium. 16,600. They can add extra seating if needed. They hold the state HS football finals there.

FYI-Starting a couple of years ago I believe now all of the Ohio State HS football championship games are held at PF Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton- I think holds 23k as someone previously posted. Massilllon Paul Brown( about 10 miles away) was a finals sight previously. OSU was also used a few times.

Ah yes. My fuzzy brain was remembering a playoff game I think I heard a local team in a couple years ago. You’re right. The finals have been in Canton the last two years, and Columbus for two years before that. Really hard to find info on the game locations before that. Maybe they bid it out every couple of years?

I think your correct- OSU hosted games I think once every 3-4 years?? and when HOF was being rebuilt- the new HOF stadium is very nice-hope your HS alma mater gets to play there in the near future!

RE: Best stadiums in the MAC.
Miami's primary football and basketball play-by-play guy posted on our boards about the behind-the-scenes history of Yager, things turned out pretty badly compared to what could've been.

The initial plan was to build the east side of Yager as a mirror of the current west side with suites; the whole stadium was also to be made with classic Miami red brick. However, the primary donation made by Fred C. Yager was in the form of Xerox stock that would be gifted upon his death. Unfortunately by the time he passed, Steve Jobs and other competitors copied their tech and the value of the stock cratered, meaning that the east side and other niceties died in favor of just using old Miami Field bleachers as a substitute. Fast forward two decades after the Big Ben years and our awful ex-AD merely replaced the bleachers with the current east side and then added the south scoreboard, not following up to build the IPF or suites that were in the works.

We've rectified past wrongs a bit now since our north endzone facilities are P5-caliber now, though we still need to renovate the press box with suites and get butts in the seats at the end of the day. Baby steps.

I've seen games in most of these places. Western Michigan's stadium really impressed me. That's probably at the top of my list.

As far as Ohio high school stadiums: The only one in the 25,000-seat range is probably the stadium adjacent to the Pro-Football Hall of Fame in Canton.

Waldo is aesthetically pleasing with good sightlines but lacking in concessions and space on the concourses.

Bowling Green has similar (if not worse) issues with concessions. But some here are being tougher on the stadium than it deserves. It has good sightlines, a good end zone facility, no high school-style bleachers and its easily accessible from the interstate yet still on campus.

The hate for Kent State's facility also seems excessive. I've seen games there twice, once in 1994 and again a few years back. They've come a long way in terms of game day experience. I was surprised by how good a time I had on my second visit.

I have seen at least 4 games in every current MAC Stadium, plus the old Akron Rubber Bowl and Old Miami Field. I think the nicest stadiums right now are Akron, Western, and Toledo. Besides Miami, where would I really like to spend a Fall Saturday afternoon. Ohio and Western would be tops with me.

The clock at old the Miami Field would run about another 5-6 seconds after the play stopped.03-lmfao

RE: Best stadiums in the MAC.
As a Bobcat, I love a Saturday afternoon watching my team, but I'm shocked that so many rank Peden in the top half of the conference. The awkward configuration, the scoreboard a mile from the field, the dark and narrow concourses and the substandard restrooms are all big drawbacks, along with the horizontal walkway that blocks the view of the first five rows. Concessions have made progress in recent years and also, beer, but wow. I rank us ahead of Kent for MAC stadia, but that's about it. It also doesn't help that our fans are among the quietest anywhere.

When the College Football Hall of Fame was located at King's Island, that old Miami clock was sitting in the front lobby. It was one of those clocks with no numbers and 7 or 8 dashes and visiting teams in particular had a hard time figuring it out. We won a few extra games because of that clock, including a big upset win over BG in 1976 when Don Nehlen got confused with time remaining on the last play of the game.

The blackout student sections in October and November make it the best student section on a yearly basis. At least on TV it looks like it holds fans. Averaging over 22k is also a MAC best on most years.

The question is best stadium. The answer is Akron. If the question was best game day atmosphere, the answer would not be Akron. The answer would be Toledo.

RE: Best stadiums in the MAC.
Actually the question is neither best stadium nor best atmosphere. The question is "Favorite 3 MAC Football Stadiums." That is really a completely different question. And if people listed their three favorite stadiums, and some listed what they thought were the three best physical structures, and others chose their three best game day atmospheres or used some other criteria, this whole poll becomes meaningless.
