USA Stadium
I have been casually following the stadium proposal at USA. Apparently there is a holdup with the city council, but I think it will ultimately get done.

I have heard some quotes from the AD and mayor that they hope to break ground in July so that it will be ready in 2020.

Does that seem possible? Would they have time for the design phase, bond issue so quickly. I guess we don't know how much of the design work was done before they went public with their intention to build.

I wish our stadium would be ready for 2020, but I don't want us to cut any corners
(maybe that is why their football practice pavilion collapsed during construction).

RE: USA Stadium
Apparently they have been working on it for the last three years and are ready to put shovel to ground. The admin at USA has said they will build with or without help from city/county. The assumption down here is that no city/county help would delay the stadium. The people associated with the current city stadium are stalling until they figure out if it gets torn down, reduced for just high school football or if they decide they want to keep it as is. They said there will be no student fees used/added to support the stadium. No major donors have been announced yet, though.

It went from little to no talk straight to we want shovels in the ground in July.

For that to happen they would already have to have much of the design completed and / or donandesign / build in which sometimes you are building faster than the architects and engineers which can lead to a lot of going back and re-doing or reworking specific things. I find 20 highly optimistic and wishful.

It's amazing how much stuff you can get done ahead of time when the administration is working with instead of against a project

RE: USA Stadium
USA President on radio this morning. They've begun site work. County ($5mil) deferred until City ($10mil) made a decision. City tabled discussion this week, so now both are in question. Said if City/County said no, then they would have to stop after site work as they would not have funding to continue. Previously been reported that USA would move forward regardless of City/County, but that appears to be false. President said they were still hoping to hit 2020. Starting site work now helps and they have architectural firm picked out and are ready to go, just need funding. Didn't say anything about private donations.

Probably putting in utilities and grading. They don't need a lot for that to begin.

At a booster event about a month ago, Ingram said utility work had started for the stadium.
