Right. The difference is that we aren't landing 5 star freshman. Dajour is close though.

Does it matter if they never play?

Is that what youre hanging your hat on? Hoping they never see the court so we truly dont have to compete against them?

Is that how you comprehend it? Does it matter that WKY signed Mitchell Robinson?

Its funny that you comment that we have to wait and see on our recruits, yet WKY gets credit for 5 star centers that either didn't play (Robinson-listed in FBI report) or Bassey (eligibility is questionable at this point).

FWIW, I hope Bassey plays for WKY and we beat them. Why would we want anything differently?

If you can’t understand the difference between a fellow mid major conference mate landing multiple 5 star recruits out of high school and our fan base landing two ex 4 star recruits who were in fact just transfers from schools that they couldn’t get on the court for (and that we used to be comparable too or better than), I honestly don’t even know what to tell you.

Has jones landed a single 4 star recruit directly out of high school in 6 years of recruiting?

I think the only one was the kid from Oklahoma who never stepped foot on campus but I honestly can’t remember.

Either way Stansbury is recruiting Jones into the ground. Kermit Davis was doing the same before he left. Stansbury probably will be rectuited back to a bcs school if he wins CUSA this year and makes noise in the dance.

Wonder why jones isn’t going anywhere??? Hmmmmm

Who is the best school that we beat out (an actual legit offer) for any of our current crop of freshmen (transfers aside)?

I’m legitimately curious who jones outrecruited for this all star class.

So 5* recruits who never step foot on the court are the new goalpost?

No matter how many times you attempt to make this absurd argument, you are the one moving the goalposts constantly.

I might just update my signature for the first time in years so it says very clearly for you and your other screen name Giles (making the NCAA tourney is the only goalpost that matters and it’s going into year 6).

Time for jones to put up or shut up, no more excuses.

Stansbury will be making it to the NCAA tourney in what, year 3 after an NIT final 4 last year?

Keatts took uncw to back to back ncaa tourney’s in his first 3 years.

But hey, we landed some 4 star transfers that no one has any REAL clue about and we actually have fans acting like that compares to what Stansbury is doing.........

This is getting out of control. The next big accomplishment jones makes st odu will be his first since UVA. Unless of course you think winning the Patriot league almost a decade ago should matter lol.

You're right. Stansbury's top recruits never make it to campus. We definitely can't compete with that.

Hollingsworth and Anderson are playing for WKU. They aren't 5 stars but they turned down some serious High Major schools. Seriously though...Are you Jeff Jones?

Well, you moved the goalposts. Anderson was a great mid major recruit. Hollingsworth is a pretty good one; about the level of Goodwin.

Hollingsworth was Mr. Basketball for the state of Kentucky in 2017. Anderson was the number 1 ranked recruit out of Louisiana.

List of offers for Anderson:

Florida, Texas A&M, LSU, NC State, Arkansas, Baylor, TCU

You're way off.

I just said Anderson was a great mid major recruit. He was borderline top 50.
Why didn't you list the offers for Hollingsworth? What would I be off on?

Anderson is a P5 recruit. Hollingsworth had interest from UK. Mr. Basketball in the state of Kentucky was going to be highly sought out but made it clear he was sticking to his commitment. Cal actually had an in home visit with Hollingsworth.

Don't understand the Hollingsworth isn't that good comments. He will be the best player in CUSA at some point, maybe next year.

He is referring to what he was as a recruit. He is not wrong about his offers. They were not stellar, but after he exploded on the scene, Louisville and Kentucky were making a push to get him. Cal went and visited but Hollingsworth held true to Stansbury.

How much interest do you think Kentucky had for a guy who's second best offer was UAB?

If Cal was in-home, I'd say he/UK had more than passing interest in the kid. And, you never know, maybe the kid was setting up UK in case he wants to transfer there in another year or so. That is the way the game's played these days.

That's probably it. He was setting Calipari up to accept his offer at a later date by rejecting his offer now. That way Cal would want him more in the future.

Wade: Wichita State

Wichita state offered? Looks like they had interest but didn’t offer.

Same with KSU for Reece.

I honestly cannot tell. They all reset their interest to "none" once the letter of intent is signed elsewhere.

I don't know if you're making a serious response or not. My point, I guess badly made, was that by having him into his home, the kid and the coach strengthen a relationship, parents, too. The day he leaves may never come, but if it does, he and Cal have a stronger bond than before. It's a small point, but as I said, the way kids transfer today it can't hurt him to have had Cal in his home.

They made him an offer that if he waited until the spring and they struck out on other guys, they would take him. So, yeah, there was some interest in the sense that he was plan B or C. (or whatever)
