1997 was ranked 21 going into the Motor City Bowl with Ole Miss, lost 31-34 on a last second FG finished just outside the top 25 at 27

I think running back will be one of our strongest positions with Cox, Strong, Jackson, Perkins, Simmons and Sinclair. There is a lot of talent there. I really believe we will be in great shape if it comes down to "next man up."

So in all reality... there's only 1 school that's had a better 4 year start in FBS play than us and that's App St. I don't think that's bad at all. And if you want to include Marshall, just remember their first season they had a Heisman Finalist... Gotta help to some degree, right?
