Scott Pruitt Resigns
Quote:Scott Pruitt resigned from his position leading the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on Thursday, following months of high-profile controversies regarding his spending, ethics and management at the agency.

"I have accepted the resignation of Scott Pruitt as the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency," President Trump announced in a tweet. "Within the Agency Scott has done an outstanding job, and I will always be thankful to him for this. The Senate confirmed Deputy at EPA, Andrew Wheeler, will on Monday assume duties as the acting Administrator of the EPA. I have no doubt that Andy will continue on with our great and lasting EPA agenda. We have made tremendous progress and the future of the EPA is very bright!"

Wheeler, who the Senate confirmed in April to be deputy administrator at the EPA, will become acting administrator when Pruitt leaves.

Pruitt has been engulfed in a high-profile scandals and under fire by both parties in recent months regarding spending taxpayer money for travel and security, his close relationships with lobbyists and industry and allegations he used government resources and staff for personal gain, among other controversies.

I'm glad we have a President who is not afraid to make changes when it comes to under-performing staff members. #Businessman101

Truth. Unlike Obama

.... June 20, 2012, the Oversight Committee voted 23–17 along party lines to hold Holder in contempt of Congress for not releasing documents the committee had requested. ... On June 28, 2012, Holder became the first U.S. Attorney General in history to be held in both criminal and civilcontempt.

RE: Scott Pruitt Resigns
To: His Magnificent Orangeness, First Emperor of the United States

_______________

Mr. President, it has been an honor to serve you in the Cabinet as Administrator of the EPA. Truly, your confidence in me has blessed me personally and enabled me to advance your agenda beyond what anyone anticipated at the beginning of your Administration. Your courage, steadfastness and resolute commitment to get results for the American people, both with regard to improved environmental outcomes as well as historical regulatory reform, is in fact occurring at an unprecedented pace and I thank you for the opportunity to serve you and the American people in helping achieve those ends.

That is why is hard for me to advise you I am stepping down as Administrator of the EPA effective as of July 6. It is extremely difficult for me to cease serving you in this role first because I count it a blessing to be serving you in any capacity, but also, because of the transformative work that is occurring. However, the unrelenting attacks on me personally, my family, are unprecedented and have taken a sizable toll on all of us.

My desire in service to you has always been to bless you as you make important decisions for the American people. I believe you are serving as President today because of God’s providence. I believe that same providence brought me into your service. I pray as I have served you that I have blessed you and enabled you to effectively lead the American people. Thank you again Mr. President for the honor of serving you and I wish you Godspeed in all that you put your hand to.

Your Faithful Friend,

Scott Pruitt

RE: Scott Pruitt Resigns
We need to clean up Washington DC. Trump was not the ideal candidate to even clean up the swamp since he had legal problems going back in the 1970s. We need someone who is not afraid to clean up the corruption including people on his/her party. Pruitt needed to go. Carson, Zincke and some others need to be canned as well.

He made some bad decisions. He did some things that are quite normal in private business but frowned upon as private enurement in government positions. Nothing many people would have paid much attention to if he were a liberal.

I'm disappointed he's gone. It was a great 504 days for America and Americans. Cut EPA overreach. Got the EPA out of internet cult science. Got it back to its basics. And got rid of some of the politicians in the agency.

Democrats goal is to personally attack all the most effective ones. And try to keep good people from working for Trump.

It's a shame James Watt is too old to bring in as EPA chief. He was so loved by liberal's back in the 1980's his confirmation would be lock now. 05-stirthepot

RE: Scott Pruitt Resigns
The problem was that he rolled back some regulations that were needed. Like the clean water issue after the Flint, Michigan chaos. We now have children poison by Mercury that now the tax payers have to pay because of the whole state government were so stupid for letting these things happened. I blamed both Democrats and Republicans for what went down there. We do need some regulations to avoid what happened in Flint. If you get rid of it? how many state elected officials in other states allow these things to happen? Having those regulations in place would save the tax payers' money on the long run.

What regulation did he roll back that would have prevented Flint? And why didn't it prevent Flint the first time? Serious question. You seem to know, so I am asking for my own edification.

He doesn't seem to recall that it was Obama's EPA that discovered problems and blew them off because, "nobody cares about poor people."
