Thanks for flagging that odu09. I didn't spot the double meaning until you made me read it a second time.

Very clever, clt.

Kids need to stay away from shady Prep Schools. jmo.

He wasn’t basseys president. He was the president at the school they rented for a gym. Only 3 of the kids went to that school. The rest took classes online. Guessing that’s what happened with bassey.

Get in line, no one wants us to keep this guy. National media, our own CUSA brethren, UK, UofL, etc......This president comes off of as sour grapes and a whiner.....Any legit reporting would have followed him up asking what he meant by that and how does he know this to be a fact? Apparently those reporters are all in everyone else's corner of not wanting to see this guy play at WKU....So I also guess within in the next week or so when we hire his legal guardian for our last assistant coaching spot its going to get even louder from the haters....

All of this will be settled by the NCAA Clearinghouse. And till the NCAA says Coach Stansbury broke a NCAA rule...he hasn't in the last 20 or so years. So I like those odds.

If Bassey is cleared, great. If not then another freshman will get those minutes and make next years team outstanding. Either way by the end of 2018-19, this should be a very good Western team.

Who in the national media other than Bozich is making a big deal about this? I'm curious if Nevada is getting the same type of press about the 5 star (Jordan Brown) that they signed. For the most part, I've read good press about both "unconventional" signings.

Jeff goodman, Dana O'Neil, Dick Vitale, Dan Dakick, Doug Gotlieb pretty much any ESPN talking head in favor of "P5" schools who look down on our schools like we are D2.....Nevada is now a media darling I guess because of their run in NCAA tournament last season, so they are preseason ranked 6th and them getting a guy like that was ok I guess.....For WKU to take the next step I agree we have to make consistent noise in NCAA tournament....Still we would be more popular nationally if we did make deep runs in NCAA tournament then in our own state....We will never get out of the brainwashed shadows of UK and UofL in our own state....

Questionable choices by Stansbury. Hope he doesn't get WKU in trouble.

"What makes the story interesting is that Western Kentucky hired his guardian Hennssy Auriantal as an assistant coach. The Louisville Courier Journal reported today that the school has proposed paying Auriantal $200,004 annually.

Auriantal coached at Jackson State from 2013-15. His salary will match that of fellow Western Kentucky assistant Marc Hsu and will exceed the $85,008 Nikita Johnson makes, according to the Journal-Courier.

Both Hsu and Johnson have extensive college coaching experience."

I don't think that he is breaking any rules. It's very smart to do whatever you can within the rules to get the best possible players on your roster. Some other coaches could possibly learn a thing or two.

clt says UNC CHeat did this with Tyler hansboro. But instead of hiring as a coach, they hired his mom as professor.

This has happened for as long as college basketball has been around. Didn’t uk hire mashburns coach and Kansas bore the manning boys coach. I mean this has happened forever. If this is a legal way to get a top recruit I don’t mind keeping a coaching spot open every year

Isn't he classified as a guardian? If that's the case then he is the parent.

Yeah, but he's also a legitimate college coach. Now if he weren't....

Yeah, but he's also a legitimate college coach. Now if he weren't....

Even if he wasn't many other schools hired dads of recruits without college experience.

Kansas hired Ed Manning dad of Danny
Memphis hired Milt Wagner to get Dejuan
UofL hired Wade Houston to get his sons
Michael Porter Sr was a woman asst before being hired at Washington....his son signed with Washington. Then Michael Porter Sr was hired by Missouri and his son follows

I'm sure there are others without college coaching experience. As I said many times, if the NCAA has no problem with it....hire the grandma if that get you a top recruit. It's the only way we/all can compete with those schools that gets all the top players.

Now I would rather have a good 3 year player that turns into that NBA draft pick in year 3. But a one and done, is OK. Even if I hate 1 and done's, as a fan

I would give 0 ***** if my school hired and fired parente every year to get top 50 talent.

You do you wku. Power programs cheat to win all the time, would I have no issues with wku working within the rules to land top talent.

More programs should do it. I have no issue using a third chair to land a top 5 freshman every year.

clt cared about NCAA fraud until the UNC CHeat case. Now I applaud it!

Well done WKU! Hope Charlotte follows your lead.
