RE: Evans...
Agree, and i guess part of my belief was from my view down in Nashville and Orlando. However, it's a new day. Really good to see Clark get a shot. Even if it doesn't work out Nba wise(and i believe he CAN make that work), it helps getting overseas $'s when you have Nba on your resume.

RE: Evans...
Very good draft night for the Bearcats...wish Clark had been drafted but ending up in Houston is an excellent fit.
PJ Tucker is 6-6 245 and averaged 40 minutes a game against the Warriors in the Western conference finals...Tucker has been in the league for 8 seasons (also played NBA D league and overseas), from NC like Clark, has made 34M+ in the NBA (more $$$ overseas as well) plus still signed for 2 more seasons with Houston. With Tucker being 33 years old, excellent veteran to learn the ropes from
Andre Iguodala is 6-6 215 and averaged 23 minutes a game against the Cavs in the NBA finals...Iggy has been in the league for 14 seasons, has made 135M+ in the NBA (was MVP of finals 4 years ago, still signed for a season with Warriors. With Iggy being 34 years old, homerun veteran to learn the ropes from for Evans...plus the warriors can help Evans improve on his 3 point shooting

RE: Evans...
Congrats to Jacob and to our program for producing another first round NBA pick!!!
It sounds like Evans will have a good shot to play and contribute to the Warriors next season. Draymond Green gave his endorsement for the pick as well...
Quote:The Warriors selected Cincinnati junior forward Jacob Evans III with the No. 28 pick of the 2018 NBA Draft on Thursday, a move that improved the team’s wing depth, perimeter defense and another dependable outside shooter.
The Warriors still addressed their offseason needs by selecting Evans, who impressed the Warriors in two pre-draft workouts in various ways. They liked his perimeter defense, including his rotations and hustle. They also saw a capable outside shooter after averaging 11.7 points while finishing fifth in school history in 3-point shooting (37.7 percent). And Myers touted Evans’ ability to play at the point guard, shooting guard and small forward spot as well as his blocking (0.9 per game).
“When our pick was up, it was clear it was him,” Myers said. “There was no debate on who we were taking.”
The Warriors could have chosen from various wing prospects, including Tulane senior forward Michael Frazier Jr., Duke freshman guard Gary Trent Jr., Oregon senior forward MiKyle McIntosh and Ohio State senior forward Keita Bates-Diop. But the Warriors became impressed with Evans, who worked out for the Warriors last Tuesday after the team’s championship parade and on Wednesday. Myers also watched Evans in person during his junior season with the Bearcats. That led Myers to call Evans a “solid player,” “a serious player” and “defensive minded.”
“I don’t think Steve [Kerr] is going to have any problem putting him out there,” Myers said. “He seems like a hard worker and will get better.”
Those qualities resonated well with Warriors forward Draymond Green, who sat with the team’s front office in the draft room after observing pre-draft workouts this week. Green offered his perspective on college prospects and spoke with Evans on the phone after he was selected.
“Draymond said this kid knows how to play,” Myers said. “It was good to have him. For him to peak to have a peak behind the curtain for what we do and have an appreciation for it and what goes into drafting one player and all the hours you spend in watching college games … he was respectful of the process.”
The Warriors believe Evans can fit their needs partly because of his mentality he shared following his second pre-draft workout with the Warriors on Wednesday.
“My playing style is getting after it and getting under guys’ skin,” said Evans, who also worked out with the Warriors following their championship parade last Tuesday. “I’m doing everything and being that tough guy on the court. I try to bring that.”
The Warriors plan to introduce Evans in a press conference on Monday morning at their practice facility so he can share more sentiments about the Warriors drafting him and how he might fit in on a championship-caliber roster. Myers predicted good things on Evans, who will play with the Warriors’ summer-league team in Sacramento (July 2-5) and Las Vegas (July 6-17).
“With a guy like this, you’re very comfortable,” Myers said of Evans. “He’s not going to be there right away, but he has the potential and he showed it in college. When he’s got a guy he’s guarding, you’re comfortable. He’s got the advantage here.”

RE: Evans...
Quote:Jacob Evans, who was drafted in the first round by the Golden State Warriors, recently told HoopsHype to keep an eye out for his collegiate teammate: “He’s an awesome, awesome, awesome guy off the court. On the court, he’s one of the best utility guys I’ve ever seen. The fact that he dominated all four years in college, knowing he was going to get double teamed on post-ups and box outs but still being able to score, that shows you his effort is limitless. He plays so hard. Whatever team that gets him is going to be very, very happy. He can uplift the locker room and keep guys together. He knows what he needs to add to his game and he’s taking it a full hedge. Some guys want to shy away from the worst part of their game. We talk every day. I hope the best for him because he honestly deserves it. You give a guy like him the opportunity, he’s going to go after it and just destroy it. People are going to wonder why people weren’t talking about him.”
These two young men are really easy to root for.

RE: Evans...
My 12 year old is a big Golden State fan (like I was a Chicago bears fan when I was his age). He was stoked Friday morning when I told him Evans was drafted by the Warriors. I'm not sure how NBA scheduling works but I am hoping Golden State travels to Indy next season - might be a good time for the two of us to take in our first NBA games.

Home and aways with every team in the opposite conference. I hope to go as well, if not Indy then possibly Chicago.

Detroit would be an easier drive than Chicago from Cincinnati (and in a much better arena IMO). Little Caesars Arena is quite literally 50 feet from I-75 in Detroit.

I think the hope is Kilpatrick is still playing for the Bulls when the Warriors come to town. Kill two birds type thing.
With that said, I wouldn't have even thought of Detroit as an option, but now it's on the list. Just need to check out dates once they're released.

Good idea about Chicago. If Lebron leaves Cleveland, that would be another option (Or if he somehow stays you can kill the Lebron bird if you haven't seen him). Should be much easier and cheaper to get tickets then. Nice to have 4 options with-in a 5 hour drive.

Didn't even think about that, but that would be pretty cool. When's the last time two Bearcats shared an NBA court? Max and KMart?

Yeah but I barely count Lance as a Bearcat. He left after completing one semester of classes. Good thing he did, because a few months after the draft he was arrested and charged with domestic battery.

I've never really been able to root for Lance. I don't fault him for leaving for the NBA, but between the groping incident and the alleged domestic violence, his past is a bit iffy.

Never think of him as a Bearcat. One semester wonder. Did he even go to classes?

Patterson and KMart were both Nuggets for a time...I think DerMarr might have been in there as well.

All three overlapped for one season, and DerMarr and Kenyon played together for about three seasons. I lived in Denver and caught a few of their games.......

I was taking my Son back to his house in Clifton last night and we saw Quad Moore standing on a corner. Didn't he transfer to another school?
