Again, is there a plan for a formal introduction/press conference?

Good question. Maybe we need to consult with Annise Parker and see what she says....

Sorry. I apologize.

At this point it would have to be tomorrow morning, before JK heads to Omaha. Otherwise, it waits until after the CWS.

Example of heads up baseball. Florida lead off batter walks. Goes to second on a wild pitch. Next batter grounds to third, so runner stays put. Next batter walks while the runner steals third. Runner on third scores on a balk. Next two batters strike out, so it was only the pitcher screwing up and some aggressive play that got Fla the run. Good things happen when you get to third base.

Showing off our low budget Roost? You think we’d use a more professional looking location for a media event like the Patterson center auditorium. If we had built the Roost to its original scope I’d understand but it’s just an empty concession hut...

No kidding....I don’t really understand the logistics of The Roost. Basically just a square, empty building with a couple small bathrooms. Such a weird, disappointing use of money.

Every athletic building at Rice (Roost, EZF, Track/Soccer "facility") is downsized due mostly to the "Rice Tax." This is the doing of the administration.

For the size of “crowds” we have drawn the last few years a couple of phone booths would have sufficed.

It struck me as the classic Rice mistaking motion for action. Instead of addressing core issues, you make a slew of noise on non-core issues to buy you time. The Roost was never a problem.. so even in the original designs or thoughts, it wasn't action - it was motion.

Not different from Air India - Revenue per Seat Mile is falling, Cost is rising, overall fleet utilization is one of the lowest in the world.... so solution is lets order 100+ new aircraft. never mind that the cost savings due to more efficient aircraft are DWARFED by the lease payments and gain you near zero when your aircraft sit on the ground for 18 hours a day.

But, the roost much like the EZF and much like Air India's order - bought the powers that be more time. And that seems to have been the goal.

I’ve always heard that but I really don’t understand the point of the current roost. The idea is fine, but the current space is an empty room where you can get $6 hot dogs. The tent was good enough for that. The original idea was a museum to showcase all of our trophies, all Americans and mlb players plus a full bar with outside space. At least that’s how I understood it. If you couldn’t afford that then just leave the tent until you can. Not it’d be more of a pain to expand than it would’ve been to just wait.

Do we have a recruiting space? I saw Illinois was adding a large recruiting space, and if a team that far down in the Big 10 is then I pretty much expect all p5 teams to have one.

Here you go attacking the EZF again... I’m sure you’d really enjoy taking daily showers in cold water and spending time in a moldy building. The EZF was required. Stop beating that dead horse, it’s not even close to the Roost situation.
