Congrats to the Cubs and their recent success, but you would have to pay me to visit Wrigley. The place is a total dump, that is not overstated. Id take the south side stadium any day of the week for a bowl game. I know it was not well attended because of the decline NIU football is in and the ESPN weeknight thing, but to Frazier's credit that NIU/Toledo game was executed wonderfully and was an incredible experience for those who attended.

Why not in Regina?

History buffs will note that NIU played in the 1947 Refrigerator Bowl held in Evansville, IN.
MD will note that bowl game results didn't matter even back then since the Huskies lost 20-0 to Evansville.

Probably not going to change your perception, but if you haven't been to or around Wrigley in the last 2-3 years, it's a huge difference.

I was there for Brewers - Cubs in April. The place is magnificent. Very modern inside and out and still has the old ballpark feel to it. Lot of room to roam in the concourses (even with 40,000 there for a day game) and the outside of the park is awesome—-with even more to come. Of course, it was cold but to call it a total dump is just an indication that he hasn’t been there recently. I had a good time also at the NIU/Toledo game, but I am sure NIU took a major loss on that one. Absolutely Wrigley would have drawn more fans, but night football in the middle of the week with two so-so teams, neither playing on or near their campus, is an ill conceived notion to begin with.

Quote:* The three new bowls? Chicago and Myrtle Beach are near locks to host two of the new bowl games.

The Chicago bowl, to be played at Wrigley Field, will feature the Big Ten against the ACC, sources said. To add the Chicago bowl in 2020, the Big Ten is expected to end its affiliation with the San Francisco Bowl (formerly Foster Farms Bowl) after 2019.

My guess: 04-jawdrop

B1G gets Chicago and MAC gets Myrtle Beach.

After one year B1G tries to poach the Myrtle Beach bowl and willingly gives up the Chicago bowl to the MAC.

MAC asks for a slot in the Detroit bowl.

ACC asks why are we in Detroit (playing the MAC) instead of Myrtle Beach (playing the B1G).

A sports writer says, can we discuss the Singapore Summit instead. Someone not well versed in current events, ask is the Singapore Summit is a little like a Singapore Sling (it's not). I think the Singapore Sling is the favorite alcoholic drink in Singapore. Right? 03-lmfao

The Singapore Sling is only what tourists drink, and only at the Raffles Hotel. They cost USD$22 a piece and are worth it exactly once in your life.

Take my advice and go to Thailand and find a massage parlor.

I hear that Thailand has many opportunities to find love.

I don't need love. Can't afford it. I just need someone to help me replicate some of the experiences I used to have at the Grotto. 03-weeping

Heard last night on the news that they want a top 3 Big Ten team versus a six or seventh place team.
So it may not happen.

Well you are certainly in the minority. Your blind hatred/jealousy towards the Cubs is so obvious it isn't even funny. The football history alone at Wrigley should be a reason for any college football player and fan to want to see a game there.

5Why are we posting about a P5 bowl? Who cares? Also, the Pig14 also kicked our bowl game out of Detroit.

Going to Wrigley feels like swimming in urine, just not appealing to me.

Only if interested in seeing the 2 teams playing.

So is Lord Stanley indirectly dropping a hint that staging a bowl game in Thailand could be just as appealing / lucrative as the Bahamas Bowl?

Why does it feel like you are swimming in urine? Someone throw a pee filled balloon at you when you were there one time?

Because the MAC will probably get a secondary tie and NIU would probably have an “in” like CMU and WMU have for Detroit.

04-rock

Too bad the majority of NIU posters on this board are sad eyed James Comey's.
