Friend of mine at work (I live in Maryland, not too far from Tubby's home town) was planning a trip to Memphis. He knew I was from there and stopped by my desk to "ask a local" what to do. the conversation turned to basketball and he knew Penny was the new coach. As we talked about the future of Tiger hoops I found myself getting emotional about the discussion. Don't know why it happed but I had to get up and excuse myself. Just wanted to share how excited I am!

* Non-sports related, the plans to redux 100 N. Main and build a Loews Hotel Convention Center Complex is simply outstanding

We're not Nashville, but we don't need or want to be. All good.

I haven't look at it in awhile, but I know we're in tournament with Oklahoma State and I think Villanova.

Also got Tennessee coming to Memphis. They should be top 25 when they roll in

Hopefully next season we can have a repeat 20 win season and maybe get an NIT bid if we don't win the AAC. The next 3 years should be a fun ride, especially after year 2. Fans expecting Penny to get to the Sweet 16 in his rookie year need to slow their roll.

Unless these freshmen far exceed expectations I just don't see the 5 returning contributors carrying us to win this conference.

I’ll go on record now and predict the Tigers WILL be in the NCAA tournament this season with 8-10 seed

I just believe in the core players we have who stayed.

Mix in the young new talent and we will be a tough team this year

I think we will definitely be in NCAA tourney.

I don't think an NCAA berth is too far fetched for this team next year. Saying that, if we don't get in, the sky isn't going to collapse or anything.
