Kind've like how "global warming" has turned into "climate change".
Outside of this tournament, OSU, and X, what else do we know about the 18-19 schedule?
Both SOS and inability to win big games have BOTH been valid criticisms, so I’m not sure that one is simply “replacing” the other, especially in the context of climate change supposedly replacing global warming (climate change by definition encompasses the effects of the global warming.) You seem to be making an argument the exact opposite of what you intended.

Oh my gosh. It's not about the weather.
But since you brought it up...
Actually, no one is saying that the SOS is bad anymore, because it's NOT. So yeah, the narrative has in fact changed there.
And please, no more explanations needed on the inconvenient truth that changed it's name to a convenient phrase that covers all the bases.
Has the 18-19 schedule been released?
I’ll start a thread on the politics board about how you do not understand the term “climate change.”

No question, the non-conference headliners are the best in the Mick era. If those can be balanced with guarantee games with low and mid-major teams that don't prove to be an anchor on the RPI, strength of schedule should be pretty robust.

That’s what I was thinking. But I’m wondering if the rest of the non conference schedule is loaded with sub300 rated cupcakes.
Much of this past season UC’s SOS was last or second to last among the top 30 ranked teams.

SOS number really only matter for the selection process and that is it. Well, fans want better games too.

I’m trying to figure out what narrative is being crushed.
About fans wanting better games, two things: One, of course, is the desire - or lack thereof - to actually watch a game against a cupcake. I’m sure my schedule is just as busy as anyone else”s so we have to pick and choose when we reserve a couple hours to watch a game. Secondly, how many games were either not broadcasted on tv or relegated to ESPN 3? This was a frustration for me early on this past year.

those are make or break tests which distort the season as a whole. since they're so early in the year. i love the late season out of conference game against a national program like a wake forest or temple in the huggs' years. like put the ucla game in february when you've got a real sense of this team's identity. a win can mask a shortcoming here and there.
i'm over the florida loss obviously but that was really gettin' my gut up to the second wichita game.
win or lose, you want to play the best teams possible cuz we need all the help we can get come march

I recognize McGill too. Carleton beats NCAA Division I teams pretty much every year in exhibition play. Should be some pretty good competition.

RE: 2018-19 Hoops schedule
Unfortunately for me my brain decided to revisit this past season during last night's slumber and I woke up in a sour mood...If you guys thought I was insufferable before, look out because I don't think I will ever expect a Cincinnati team to win in the post season. And I don't wanna hear it because it's literally all I've ever known to happen. So if I have to be miserable you're all coming down with me. Can't wait for new fifth third!
Also my prediction for the Canada trip this August: We will drop at least one of those "games" and some people will freak out for no reason.

If you'd have gone to UC during the Dave Currey/Tony Yates years, you'd be thrilled with where UC is now on all fronts.
