Wow. Didn't see that one coming...I just want some good news for ODU at some point in the next 2-3 years. I feel like its been at least that long since we've had any.

Nevada is getting a lot of transfers these days. But I don't think that was worth the switch.

Why? Wasn't he after exposure.

I will say, him transferring to another mid major definitely stings more

Hmm? You gotta explain this one. We have had quite a bit of good news this week.

What a great fit for Trey and Nevada. He will do great things there next year, as they are supposed to be really good.

Well, you know, these players are transferring to other schools because their current school doesn't have a graduate program they are interested in. ODU does not have a masters in croupier and blackjack dealing.

This move points a little bit to his relationship with the coaching staff here!!!

I am astonished that people view that as a lateral move. Some on this board either are not very in tune to the current college basketball landscape, or think we are a lot better than we are.

Nevada is really good right now...and will likely be really good next year too. If he wants to be on a winner, that is certainly a good place to be. Still sad that we could not retain...but that is the landscape right now. Better hope we find a diamond in the market or it's going to be a long season.

We are about as relevant as William Mary was when we were in the caa. 5 wins was a shocker season.... ever since then, nothing really surprises me anymore with this program. It’s clear what we are now, and it is not the same as what we were, regardless of the win totals

Alright, I'll bite. I think they are a better school but they are still a mid major in a mid major conference. They will probably be no higher than a 7 seed in the tournament (that's on the committee, not me). Of course they are better, but it's still from one mid major to another.

Mid major or not, the expectation is the NCAA for them as you said, “no higher than a 7”... has old dominion ever seeded that high? Our hoops programs are not as close as we would like to think at this time

So the same people who keep telling us we are unrealistic to expect to go to the tournament almost every year cannot comprehend why Porter is going to a team that made a run in the tournament this year and the fans, team, and coaches expect to be back next year?

You may interpret that as good news, but that is only because through the slow roll and successful erosion of expectations throughout a long period of time, Woody has managed to move the Overton Window to the point that the disaster has become interpreted as successful. If the same story had been released 5 years ago or 3 years ago, you and everyone else would have been livid. It is really quite an interesting case study. He got us to the point that we would have been happy with anything. Quite a long way from 30,000 chairback seated waterfront stadium with boatgating.

Is there a way to save this comment? I won't bet a ton of money, but I will put internet bragging rights on the line that they will not be higher than a 7 next season.
