Yep. Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn outside of 5 feet. Thanks for the input.

Hopefully he can get his 3 pt shooting numbers up a bit, but yeah I think he will be a good replacement for Jacob. With the returning players there should be some good competition for minutes at guard and small forward.
Should we reasonably expect that or just wish and hope? His shooting percentage was against juco competition. I can't imagine he'll come in and shoot better against high major competition. I hope he does as UC needs outside scoring from his position next season.
Cane Broome was a poor 3-point shooter at Sacred Heart, only managing to hit on 31% of his attempts.
This year, against far better competition, he was our second best deep threat at 39% (Gary was the best).
Often times you see these numbers fluctuate based on the looks players are getting. Troy was a 41% guy as a freshman (much like Fredericks) but then dropped off when he took on a larger role within the team.
In other words, it's tough to know until we see him play--but, he does appear to have a good stroke. For that very same reason I believe Trevor Moore will increase his numbers next year.
What is the comparison for Broome in number of attempts? As far as I remember he was the only offensive threat on that Sacred Heart team and jacked it up all over the court. At least Broome was playing against D1 talent. Not sure how it's going to be easier for a JUCO kid to improve his percentages playing against better talent. Wasn't Rubles touted as a shooter as well out of JUCO? JUCO is no where near what is was 20 years ago as far as talent coming out of there.
You can definitely find impact players at the juco level. Corey Davis, Daryl Macon, Jaylon Barford, CJ Jackson, Jeremy Harris, Shakur Juiston are all big time players that came out of JC the past two years.

Also, I'm not sure where to put this but I think Mick has another find in Logan Johnson. His athleticism, effort and skill are evident in his senior tape: https://www.hudl.com/video/3/4694810/5aa...0f1c9ca812
In the first play he sprints the length of the floor on defense to block a shot against the board, then turns around a takes a charge. He may not make a huge impact this year with Broome and Jenifer on the roster, but he has a great future.

Who touted him as a shooter when he was in JUCO? All I covered was "really awkward shot that goes in once in a while". You have no clue what you're talking about here, but thanks for the input or something...

His point was nobody ever considered rubles a shooter. Never ever ever.

Thanks for the video. He is clearly someone who can help, and perhaps early. Especially if four out becomes the mantra.
I would expect similar production as Williams or Moore, in terms of minutes, but perhaps in different ways, him being a PG.

RE: Are we going to talk...
Yeah, we should talk about this.
It will be interesting to see how next years team differs from the last two on offense. The last two years, offense seemed to want to flow through our two bigs, Gary and Kyle. And with a 30 win season this worked pretty well. It felt like Clark rarely came out of the game, and touched the ball on most every trip down the court. I would be surprised if we see that out of our bigs next year.
Defense will feel different also. We depended on Clark to keep the middle under control, and Evans was really good at moving and staying in front of his man on defense.
It will be interesting. Remains to be seen just how satisfying it will be.

Yeah...we really need Scott, Nsoseme, Diarra, and Brooks and address what we've lost collectively because there really does not appear to be one or two in the bunch who can do it all.

My biggest concern with Logan is his shooting ability. Every highlight I see shows a slow release and not a lot of elevation on his jump shot. Anyone know what he shot from the 3 in high school?
With that said, he has good length, speed, and athleticism for a point guard. He really seems to excel at getting to the rim and finishing strong. Kind of strikes me as a Chad Moore type player before the back injuries derailed what was a promising career.

Most touted him as a "scorer", not really a "shooter". Maybe he was thought of as a shooter because he shot 51% from the field in JC.

Players usually can get their shot off quicker with more strength, which Logan clearly needs. Less need to load up for threes when you have a stronger base and upper body.

And I simply replied no, he wasn't considered a shooter the first time around. You kept it going though...

That's how I remember him as well. More of a scorer but not necessarily a good shooter. I do seem to remember him being rated as a Top 5 JUCO type coming out.

I mean, he can disagree with me on Rubles. As the article I wrote when he committed stated, he hit 25% as a sophomore, so no one expected him to come in and make jumpers. We'll see on Fredericks, but his mechanics look to be solid so I'm not overly concerned he had a streaky season. If he can split the difference between his two seasons and hit 36 or 37% he will be in good shape with everything else he brings to the table...
