North Korea's leader Kim Jong Un has announced he will suspend nuclear and missile tests and shut a nuclear test site, Yonhap news agency said Saturday.

"From April 21, North Korea will stop nuclear tests and launches of intercontinental ballistic missiles," Yonhap quoted North Korean state media as saying.

"The North will shut down a nuclear test site in the country's northern side to prove the vow to suspend nuclear test," the official KCNA news agency said, according to Yonhap

I am still not sold on NK really shutting down their nuke program, but it is at least encouraging. If Trump succeeds in getting NK to get out of the nuke business, he will make Clinton, Bush and Obama look like small time amateurs in dealing with NK. Of course the left will give Obama credit somehow, some way for NK getting rid of their nukes.

As I say though, I am not convinced this will happen. If it does, fat boy was convinced Trump was going to turn his country into a sand box. After the last 8 years of having the all time champion wuss as President, it is nice to have a man who means what he says running the country.

Read a piece today that talked about the brilliance of Trump sending Pompeo to visit the fat boy. The trip seems to have been a huge success by all counts.

With a brutal senate vote coming up on his confirmation as Sec of State, dims risk screwing the potential gains that appear to have been made on this issue.

Fat Boy, as most other leaders around the world, see Pompeo as Trump's man, versus Tillerson, who while extremely qualified, did not see eye to eye with his boss on many issues and they knew that.

As I said in another thread NK really had no choice but to stop testing and developing. They dont have the resources and they already got what they wanted. They have shown they have a nuke that can hit America and that was Fat Boy's goal. By doing that America has to take them serious and like other countries once they developed nukes....

I believe Fat Boy is dangerous but he's not as stupid and crazy as most people want to believe. I believe his goal all along was not to get in a fight with America. That would be way past crazy. His goal was to get to this point before NK ran out of resources and that's what he did.

Hope President Trump don't let Fat Boy play him. I bet if you asked Trump what he would want to be remembered for this (ending the NKW and bringing them out of being a nation considered evil) would be a close second to turning Americas economy into historical highs before leaving office. So I can see President Trump thinking this might put me up there on the mountain.

But honestly there's only one other choice that's a war with them at some point in the near future. Fat Boy knows he's running out of time and money and food and everything else. China wont let them fall but they are probably close to that point.

I get it....

war is always the last thing you want when a country has nukes and desperate because there are no winners and the cost is almost always higher. I bet 35 or 40 years ago there were people thinking, at some point in the near future we would be at war with China. The world showed them there were better options and China went from mostly farming to the 2nd leading manufacturing country. Are they stronger now? sure they are but China has something to lose today that they didn't 40 years ago. The dollar is what makes the world move....china now gets it. Any war at this point with a country with nukes will probably end badly if you have a person who thinks they have nothing else to lose.

Is anyone besides me uncomfortable with us making friends with a known mass murderer? Never mind. It seems we have along history of this kind of thing.
