Illini grad transfer Patrick Nelson visited NIU this weekend. He's an excellent tackler and although he played safety at Illinois would be a great fit at outside linebacker for us.

Would have to sit a year looks like but yes please come on over. Play for a winner.

Read it wrong. Is a grad transfer. Does he have two years left then? Showed he was a rs soph last year

Could be a great addition. Why would he need to sit out if he’s a grad? If I’m not mistaken grad transfers don’t have to sit out.

We recruited him out of high school. Can't remember if he was committed to us and then switched to Illinois.

I read it wrong, he doesn't have to sit out. But it showed he was a rs soph which would mean he has two years left to play. Unless I'm reading it wrong? He might start over Foster IMO if he comes.

Freshman All B1G and Academic All B1G with an Unconditional Release. Unconditional meaning if we get him he can play right away. Mykelti Williams, and Patrick Nelson at safety. Stir that pot......... Nickname is “The Full Nelson”
