Pretty big population areas like Florida, Texas, California, Georgia, etc...

Wonder what that does to the bottom line. Not surprising with it being owned by Fox.

Looks like the Big Ten TV contract has peaked.

I don't understand. It is currently an add on via Spectrum. Is comcast completely removing it as an option?

If these conference channels fold so do these bloated conferences.

Really starting to add to the cost of cable adding a new channel for each conference. It really makes no sense having people in Florida or Texas or California subsidizing a northern conference that nobody down here will watch.

This might stabilize more conferences since expansion is now getting risky.

For those of you who have the Big Ten Network who don't have a rooting interest in any of the teams.....do you find that you ever watch it?

I have had it for several seasons and maybe have watched one quarter of one game on it. Just too many better options available.

There are a lot of Tampa kids on the Indiana roster and it's cool to see them for like 5 minutes but that is it.

The only time I paid for the Big10 network was for the month that UCF played Penn State........ after that, quick cancel.

Interesting. I wonder if it might accelerate more re-alignment or slow it down a bit.

Regardless, additional re-alignment/expansion is still probably off the books until the next TV deals are up, correct ?

I'll watch the occasional Big Ten Hockey game or if a UCONN OOC game ends up on there. It's good if you're into Men's Hockey/Men's Lacrosse/Wrestling as the Big Ten is very strong in those 3 sports and they show a lot of those games/matches. It's not very good for watching Football/MBB/WBB due to the fact that every game seems to include at least one of the Big Ten dregs (ie lots of Rutgers).

I won't miss it.

I don't see them dropping Florida, too many big ten fans retirees around these parts

Interesting point. Maybe this could push the big10 to schedule more AAC teams in football or even make them more inclined to participate in an AAC/big10 challenge in Mbball

I believe with Spectrum it was always an add on but with Verizon/Frontier FIOS it has always been included in the base digital package.

That’s the thing. These games you see on most conference networks are largely what would be considered third tier content. It’s not exactly must see tv for out of state markets. There probably won’t be much backlash at all.

Yup. I would much prefer to have the SEC Network. They actually have a good amount of quality Football/MBB/WBB games (plus SEC Baseball).

Not that I am willing to pay much for it but I would actually rather have the PAC 12 TV network over the Big 10. There were a few occasions last year where I was up late and would have watched a game but it wasn't available.

Whereas the Big 10 Network plays all their games early.

Big 10 network is part of the PlayStation Vue mid tier plan. It wouldn't make me sad to kill it. I watch the SEC a little for college baseball.

I'd rank the conference networks as:

1. SEC Network - Most quality content.
2. ACC Network - TBD - Seems to have quality content, but it's still a digital network.
3. PAC Network - May be alright, but no one really knows since most aren't awake to watch anything on it.
4. B1G Network - Good for watching non-revenue sports. Bad for watching revenue sports.
5. Longhorn Network - Non-Texas fans don't care.
