Spring Football Facilities Updates
we all know about Troy's awesome Endzone project as well as Astate's current EZ constuction, but just curious about if any of the other Belters have spring or offseason football stadium and/or facility projects going on? (App fans aren't y'all gonna have an endzone project started up soon?)

Our new, new practice facility hasn’t fallen over yet. There’s that.

Slated for completion prior to the 2020 season. Track removal some time before that.
EDIT: I believe (someone correct me if I'm wrong) we are in the bidding phase for the project right now. Article above says demolition of the old field house and construction could begin this summer.

Phase 2 of 5 GSU Stadium upgrades. Mostly internal renovations that will only benefit the players, coaches, and staff. New weight rooms, classrooms, offices, recruiting lounges, stuff like that. Our football team will fully move into the stadium after this year...so I'm excited for the players even though fan experience wont be affected.

Demolition of Owens Field House is scheduled to start following this season. North Endzone construction is scheduled to begin early next summer, which means the track will be relocated at the same time.

Yes, we should start after this season. I would attach a picture, but they have revised it several times so its going to look different than the initial drawing. It will have club and loge seats, new locker rooms, weight room, training facilities, club room, meeting rooms, offices, and kitchen. Keep in mind a lot of those same features are in the athletic center behind the west stands., but they will all be bigger/better. That building was opened in 2009 and is still one of the better facilities in the conference, but there were also a few design flaws that are being fixed with the new project. The arms race is on!

Glad the exterior look will be changed. We already have too many types of architecture around the stadium, I hope they use a similar look to the west tower.
Any word if the team will now enter through the north endzone now? Our locker rooms in the west tower seem too nice to move to the endzone, but who knows.

I believe the architecture will be similar to the athletic center. I believe they received plenty of feedback about the initial look that they changed the design.
Not sure what the locker room setup will be??? I wonder if they current locker room will stay in place for day to day purposes, but then they'll have a game day locker room in the new building to keep from blocking the walkway behind the west side? Of course the locker "rooms" mention could simply be a replacement for the visitors and officials that are in Owens now.

I'll be happy with almost anything that doesn't look like this monstrosity.
Several of the more recently posted concepts have looked very promising, though I'm sure they've been through many more rounds of ideation.

One thing is for sure... Our weight room location has certainly not hurt us in any way as we have gone 8-2 against your igglets over the last 10 years. Can't wait to see what we can do when we move it to the first floor or the basement.

Yea what's wrong with 2nd floor weightrooms? The two high schools I went to both had upstairs weightrooms.

Nothing if you reinforce the floor correctly to handle the weight...

Back in my much younger days I worked out at a gym that put 2 guys on the US Olympic weightlifting team...the gym had a basement and things were built solid...no problems...and we're talking about one of those guys dropping 500 pounds from over head. A 2nd floor weight room is no big deal.
