All things considered, I don't see why anyone should be the least bit surprised by this latest departure. He's an offense first guy on a defense first coached team. Not the best fit for either party. Also not a good indication that Jones has any plans on changing his style to one that requires a bunch of 3 point shooters. Same story, different day.

It also means that our highly touted 2017 recruiting class, which is one of the main reasons for any optimism for JJ's tenure, is no longer so highly touted. I hope Jason Wade can shoot.

Hope it's not another Austin Colbert. This program is in dire need of some good news.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not happy about it but I thought it was slightly obvious based on how much time the other freshman got on top of the incoming class.

Not a surprise, and probably not a huge hit to the program. Godwin passed him, and Green was already ahead of him. I wish him well. We aren't hurting for guards, though.

Embarrassing but not a shock.

Recruiting guards to stretch the floor, not redshirting them and then not playing them in any meaningful minutes is one way to get kids to transfer in 2018. Kid hit 16 3s in a game 2 years ago and yet didn't get a shot when the team was slogging through a 49 pt performance in the tourney after shooting 36% from 3 for the year...

I can see why he is transferring. Our 1 and 2 spots are full: Caver, BJ, Kithcart, Green, Godwin - and now Wade needs to fit in there if he doesn’t redshirt. There are only so many mins to go around. This is the part of the sport I do not enjoy.

I think they should let him transfer wherever he wants to go. Not cool restricting his options.

Both Godwin and Hueitt were asked if they would redshirt. Both refused.
