List of businesses, bars and restaurants now one North Colley:

Hanks Filling Station
Cogans Pizza
University Pizza
Elation Brewing (coming soon)
Chow
Macks Barge
Dirty Buffalo
LeGrand Kitchen

There are also a number of businesses on North Colley. This could really be the start of the college bar area we have always wanted. Hopefully the growth continues to where its very walkable. Hopefully the city steps in a puts some money in this growing area.

Also left out Hoyts, which is fantastic. And Nouvelle is moving into the spot that was Dorothy's BBQ. Another awesome addition.

Just have to hope they will embrace their proximity to the campus and "ODUness". That could become what I hoped "the village" would be.

One or two streets leading from Campus to N. Colley needs to get better lighting and police presence for students to feel safe walking over to Colley.

Sam's is also good. IMO it is the type of place you'd expect near a Uni.

University Pizza has embraced it. I've never been though.

Nouvelle isn't moving there. They are opening a 2nd location that is going to be slightly different to what is offered downtown.

I can't to be able to just walk over there though. Pretty excited.

I have a dream that one day students can walk from North Colley to Ghent at night without fear. Someday.

Nouvelle isn't moving there. They are opening a 2nd location that is going to be slightly different to what is offered downtown.

I went to the downtown location March 7th for dinner. Luke and Rina said it was going to be a 2nd location.

I bike all around the area and never had an issue. It's gotten better but boy it still has more room to go. If ODU police didn't spend so much time sitting in the parking lots at Colley and 42nd to pass out tickets for left turns and did more patrolling things might be better.

Another transformation that's been occurring, there's a few industrial buildings that have been converted into apartments between Colley and Killam recently.

I walked home to Ghent from PJ's 19th Hole at like 4:00am in the late 1990's, it was not as scary as one would think. Not exactly a scenic walk, and I would not have wanted to do it nightly, but it was not as bad as expected.

I have wasted a lot of money and seen to many sunrises leaving PJs. Still glad its there tho.

Drank my first ever beer on Colley Avenue my freshman year, 1969. It was a bar about a 3 minute walk from Gresham Hall. Good memories.

I posted pics of a few of those projects a number of weeks ago. The one at 44th and Killiam is moving fast!

When I was scanning the site, I read this title as "North Colley is transferring". thought, great, "They no longer want to be associated with Norfolk!"
