Clearly this league deserves more respect from the committee.
They are just doing their part to help make up for the lack of revenue from the tv contract. Keep those NCAA basketball credits coming
I think I've seen that its around 250K for the conference per win. Anyone know if thats right?
Who do we have to kill for this league to get some damn respect? It's blatantly obvious we're getting the shaft again and again. Do we need to pay somebody off? I mean WTF? Obviously this league isn't doing something. Crap TV contracts, limited exposure, etc...
MTSU should have been in the tourney. Period. End of discussion. They got shafted so bad, they weren't even a #1 seed in the NIT. I mean, COME ON.
On top of that, they shaft ODU for the NIT.
This was an up year for C-USA basketball, but again we get the shaft. Something has to change - and it needs to change in the league office. Get in the game Judy, or get out of the way.

We were in the SBC at the time, however this year is the 10 year anniversary of WKU's last Sweet 16 run. Ty Rogers hit a buzzer beating 3 pointer for the win over 5 seed Drake. I was at the game in Tampa and never will forget it.
What I could find in addition to WK over SMU and Marshall over Wichita.
Tulsa 100 UTSA 96
USF 60 FAU 59
FIU 65 USF 53
UAB 71 Memphis 56
Char 69 ECU 50
USF 78 Char 76
Temple 76 ODU 65
So 5-4 for 2018 unless I missed one.

I think that's pretty close but that's per year per credit for like 6 years maybe? So next year we'll get 1 million (4 X 250K)
The value of a "unit" this year is right around $280,000 per year for 6 years. So Marshall, just by playing in the game today, generated about $1,700,000 for the conference as would have any team that got out auto bid. By winning the conference will now benefit from having two units, or about $560,000 per year for the next six years. If we can beat wvu that number goes to $840,000 per year.
To put it in perspective as to why multiple bids are so important and having those teams advance is so lucrative, the ACC pulls about $24,000,000 a year in tournament money based on their collective units. That's why at large bids are hard to come by. If Middle would have gotten in like they should have instead of Oklahoma it would have taken at least $1.7MM out of the Big 12 pocket and put it in CUSA.
That's also why its been so important for our representative to continue winning our first round games. Doing so is like getting 2 bids but losing in the first round.
I agree. This conference needs to really start focusing on basketball imo.

Thats how I've seen this. When our TV deal is not what it should be, we are at least making $ in Bball.
Essentially the past 4 years we have had two teams in the tourney that both lost in the first round. I'm not sure which one I prefer though, a low seed beating a high seed 4 years in a row, or multiple teams getting average seeds and losing the first round.
