WKU opens -6....
if Marshall plays like they did yesterday, WKU is going to have their hands full.....
I think WKU pulls it out...

I won’t pick since I’m a little superstitious, but I think we keep the Herd under 12 made 3’s. Is the key to a WKU win.

Snarky comment for om the still-bitter camp: this game presents an interesting clash between the player who peddles in ginning up phantom fouls (Elmore) versus the front court that seems to be inoculated from having fouls called against them (Coleby/Johnson).
Non-snarky comment: both teams are worthy representatives of our conference. Looking forward to a good game tonight, and to cheering on the winner in the NCAA's.

I know this, Western's A game will shread us. Also, not sure if we'll get a 100% Peneva tonight.
That said, considering we take so many 3's, you never know.

Hm, I think the game will be a little closer than 6. Splitting hairs, but I see this as a 4 point win or less.
Our previous matchups would lend you to believe we'll get shredded, but it would take Western hitting on all cylinders...
We'll see.

How to handicap this game?
Marshall is playing their 4th game in 4 days, you have to wonder if fatigue kicks in. On the other hand WKU played the late game and it was very physical. So that could easily be offset.
I think it is interesting that Marshall and WKU played the toughest conference schedules out of anybody in the league and now they're the ones playing for the auto bid. It is almost as if the tough schedule prepared us for this week.
Should be a great game. I am already on the edge of my seat!

Actually, we had the bye just like y'all. Third game in three days.
We're as rested as you.

It's possible, but we still have no status update on Peneva...
Also, I'm not sure getting the earlier game helps. Think about how excited all those kids are, how amped up. From a competitor aspect, how much sleep are you getting really, not like they're out at night or anything...
But just nerves keeping you up...

I think they reported that he is moving and ready to play. Should not be a huge factor, especially with the addition of a bench of big men that came out of nowhere where. We are an 8 deep team compared to 6 deep before.

If Marshall is full strength, I'm going to go with them pulling an upset.
If not, hard not to pick WKU.

Left the game last night after rolling his ankle. He seemed to be walking just fine by the second half, but Dantoni rested him since the game was in our favor. He said he could have brought Penava in if he felt he needed to.

If Marshall can play anything reaemblig a decent zone defense, they can win. If not, WKY will eat them alive with dribble penetration. The. Again, WKY had to go through UAB and ODU to get here, they might be drained.

Peneva would be a huge loss for the Herd but overall the games WKU played were more physical. We beat WKU up pretty good yesterday. They won but won a few bruises to get the win.
Good luck to both teams. Either will be a good representative in the tourney for CUSA.

Here's a question...
If WKU wins, what seed will they draw? I say 12...which I would rather be a 12 without the play in game than an 11...
If Marshall wins, what seed will they draw? I say 14...
