Seems like he could be, though. He needs to get a lot stronger. Can't count the times I've seen him go up for a shot and get his arms stripped down to his sides like a christmas tree going through a netting machine.

I suspect your disappointment in the outcome has colored your assessment of the officiating. I’ve seen a dozen MAC games more poorly officiated than this one. Which calls that went EMU’s way did you feel sucked? Refs could have called two or three every time Knapke got the ball low but it’s a physical game, they let them play and they were consistent. When Thompson elbowed Knapke and Knapke pulled him down I think they felt they needed to clean it up a little.

That’s kind of silly. They not only could, they did. They could only allow so much of that before they HAD to call something on him. If he had the wherewithal to keep his mouth shut, he finishes the game on the floor with four fouls.

Thompson is a punk. Period. Has been for his entire career. Good news for him is that he will fit in perfectly in the NBA.

Look: no way Rockets should have been able to win this game without Fletcher, but they did. If EMU fans want to be upset, be mad at the fact your team should have won this game by double digits and you didn’t—and the refs didn’t cost you the game...Marreon Jackson did, pure & simple.

Big props to the Rockets, cause I didn’t think we’d get there even WITH Fletcher. I have zero expectations for the championship game, though. Will be very tough to beat Buffalo without the MAC player of the year. This one could get ugly, which would be an unfortunate reflection on the reality.

Have heard nothing so far but I can’t believe he’ll play again this year. There was no contact or odd landing evident on his layup, his leg just couldn’t support him.

Officiating wise EMU was very physical and only got called for 12 fouls. there was a lot of contact on blocked shots that the refs let go because it was clean on the ball. That helped EMU. The refs allowed some contact by defenders on closing shooters. This generally helped EMU because they close out better than toledo. Two of the first 3 calls on Thompson were obvious. One was iffy. The T was his fault. Don't yell stuff at the opposing coach while he's having a conversation with the referee. The 5th foul had to be double foul once they blew the whistle. You can't call it on Knapke only, because thompson is pulling knack's arm at the beginning and middle of the tussle. You can call it only on Thompson's because Knapke pulls on him and then tries to draw a foul at the end. The only other option would have been if the refs had immediately blown the whistle and stood each player up and warned them they were on the cusp of a tech and inbounded the ball. As soon as they went to the monitor you had to call double foul. As for the end of the game. Shot was on the rim 7 seconds after inbound. Bond's rebound should not have even happened. And there's no way you give them the game on body contact jostling for a frantic rebound-grow up Lucky.

The other note on officiating is that it cost UT Tre Fletcher. The refs allowed Miami to undercut rocket players on defense all game in the quarters and as it hit crunch time they got away several times not giving a player room to land on a shoot. So, they continued too do it and that's how they hurt Fletcher you got contact from 2 miami players, one on each leg, as he tried to land after a shot.

As for this thread you all rocket faithless are pathetic. I read it from start of game to final play and nearly no one said a good thing about a rocket play or even mentioned we were winning (until late in the game). Have some faith. That was a good opponent and we beat them with our star hurt. we had some guys play with a lot of courage and even the guys who struggled didn't quit. maybe, saturday, all the shots fall.
