Gotta give their D a little credit. They did great at hedging screens and defending/denying entry passes all night.

True. I don't mean to slight La Tech. We knew they wouldn't be easy.

We really didn't even have that bad of an offensive game though. 1 point per possession, which is typically a win for us.

What they did well, I thought, was finding the right time to double Porter. Porter looked pretty uncomfortable passing out of double teams and we didnt have any 3 point shots falling to make them pay for it. However, Caver pretty much took over with his passing/general team leadership. That game winner to Porter was effin beautiful.

was that the alley-oop? That pass was from almost half court! At least it seemed like it.

No, that was a good one as well. Caver hit Porter under the basket with like a minute left or something, I believe. Perfect timing and placement of the pass.

That was a masterful play by Caver. Up there with the biggest and best plays I can remember him making at ODU.

It was just as masterful when Porter stepped towards the screen and instead rolled down the paint. Defender was in no man's land and Caver threaded the no look pass. Those two had spent a lot of time talking coming out of the prior timeout. Chemistry in that moment finished the game.

That alley-op was nasty! I wish they had a replay of it online.

I know, right. Until now, I didn't even know who threw it. Looked like a Caver play, but my son swore it was BJ... and since it was on Twitter with no Chromecast, I had to mirror my screen meaning I couldn't read comments on here. Thanks for clearing that up.

Hoping for a nice NIT run.

In the meantime, I don't think I want to read too much on these boards. I know what's coming.

Hard to keep going through this year after year. We just can’t pull out the big games.

Not what I wanted, but the last NIT run was a ton of fun. Hope we can get a bid.

Yeah we need WKU to win it all to keep another NIT bid in play in case MTSU gets snubbed in the big dance and grabs another

We're not an NCAA team. We are an NIT team though. We don't have the horses yet. Not much Jones can do to make people hit shots.

I'm done with this guy. He's a lifetime mediocre coach that will never, ever be anything more than he is right now.

Oh...and wait until we lose Hewitt and Porter to transfer next year. That's going to be fun.
