Dave T made a comment last week during one of the games that Haynes changed his shot a few weeks back and now kicks his legs out to the side on his jump now for some reason. He commented on how that looks so awkward and makes no sense to change at the end of the season. Not sure what's going on there.

He did, but it hasn't been this bad. The past three games, it has been really bad.

Flying V. Flying A. Something like that. Definitely funky. Hope his shots land. It's all mental for him, we know he can do it.

Why would he do that? Why would the coaches allow him to do that? Makes no sense. I thought there were shots last night that he normally would take that he passed up. We need him for more than long arms and defense.

Honestly, I don't know the answer to this question. I have been back and forth with it. Twardzik definitely said something to Jones about it, but Jones may not want to mess with it during the tournament.

Im not sure you mess with someones shooting stroke in the middle of a tourney. Injury? I'm not sure the right answer.

Man...I like AC and he is a great person, but he is a liability on the floor. He is basically a worse defender, rebounder, and passer than Denzel Taylor was. Hopefully next year our freshman are ready to step in and play because AC needs to be limited to about 5-7 minutes per game.

Denzel Taylor was a pretty solid rebounder and defender (definitely a better rebounder though). Being worse than him doesn't really say much.

Denzel Taylor was a pretty solid rebounder and defender (definitely a better rebounder though). Being worse than him doesn't really say much.

I think the point is he is just as bad offensively and isn't even as good defensively and on the glass.

Carver is also a sophomore that still has 2 years to improve. He's never going to be a threat offensively, I don't think, but he's a solid defender and rebounder. He doesn't hurt the team if he's in the game with guys that can score.

Well, they tried him om Johnson in ORF and it wasn't pretty

I've never been impressed with Carver either.

OTOH, he really made a difference guarding King in that matchup. I think Johnson is too good on the perimter for him.

And don't forget Taylor was an absolute turnover machine. WHile Carver isn't the most sure handed guy, he turns the ball over a lot less.

I agree regarding Johnson vs Carver

Denzel also had the ball in his hands a hell of a lot more than AC

The inverse of that is Southern Miss is hot and their seed is no longer relevant. So it's probably better, but in tournaments you just don't ever know.

Correct. Denzel left teams the ability to hedge and trap because he wasn’t effective. It also allowed them to double to post with both big men. Denzel was a great defender and and incredible offensive rebounder. AC is decent at both, but not anywhere close to where Taylor was.

Taylor handled the ball way more than Carver. Considering Taylor played 900+ minutes each season and was our best hi/lo passer, his TO numbers weren't as bad as you are trying to make them out to be.
