I heard MT's pbp guy, Chip Walters say the ballots had to be in Friday, before the last game of the regular season.

RE: Men's Basketball All Conference Teams Announced
No problem with selections, for those that are upset about Justin Johnson, remember that he gets a double team and sometimes a triple team damn near every game. What he gets done with the defensive effort that gets thrown at him is pretty remarkable. He is extremely valuable to the team, more so than most here realize, but not more so than the people that voted him first team. I can bet that the opposition coaches always game plan especially for him.

How far have my UTEP Miners fallen. Not a single player any where. I have been going to games since the '70s and I have never seen such a dark time in UTEP basketball program history.

What did you have a problem with? Just wondering.

Listed some reasons above. I don't really like meda and PBP announcers having a vote after listening to their commentary.

Those are the only people that watch the games.

Yes, exactly all creditability this guy has is gone...Nothing against Coleby but Justin is by far a better overall player than Dwight...Justin absolutely deserved first team...I think the teams are about right, not sure the love for Beard though? Also would have Hollingsworth on all Defensive Team....

Personally, I think WKY fans overrate him (though he did torch us). He's numbers don't stack up to the conference's best.

What other guys in this conference have 1,500+ points and 1,000+ rebounds for their career? I’ll hang up and listen.

If first team was a career award then Giddy would be on it. Second most important player on the best team. He's got over 1500 pts and 500 rebounds as a guard. Plus third all-time in the league in three point percentage. But Giddy is a team guy. Took 100 less shots this year than he did last year.

Guess what I'm saying is career progress doesn't and shouldn't have any bearing on first team accolades.

Yah but he had a decade to do all that.

After listening to Dave ReTwardzik for one game last year I couldn’t agree with you more. What a hillbilly. If that clown got a vote, any ODU player selected should be removed on principle alone.

We schooled him last year when he was crying. Dave was probably making fun of Western's stupid mascot or something.

Mascot? You mean that big red blob running around? I thought that was just one of their fans dressed up in costume for the game.
