New Mexico St and Murray St get so screwed in mid major realignment it’s ridiculous.

NMSU didn't have to give up full Sun Belt membership to join the WAC. Had they turned down the WAC, they wouldn't be scrapping about.
Murray just never can get the votes.

If the MWC expands, it'll most likely be UTEP/Rice and UTSA/NMSU.... IMHO. CUSA would stay at 12 especially with the TV money as it is. But if it did, it certainly wouldn't expand into Missoula, Bozeman, Fargo, or Grand Forks.

There aren't enough schools in the midwest/mountain west with an athletic budget large enough to support a move to FBS. The ones that could do very well financially in a move up are JMU ($47 million plus) and Delaware ($34 million plus) and no one has invited them.

The top midwestern FCS football schools come in ranked 121 and lower budget-wise.. Plus, I don't see the NCAA granting a waiver allowing for a new FBS conference comprised of FCS teams. Just isn't going to happen.

The most logical expansion for MWC is just add Gonzaga and not worry about adding anyone else.

But if we do enough trolling on enough discussion boards, eventually the Great Northern will have to come true! 03-wink
