Also as a Rocket football fan I'm still wondering what happened at the bowl game to our team.
I need closure on that game to move on to next season.
Did Candle ever address this?
Just coach speak regarding bowl loss. I’d still like an explanation but we’ll never get one

Then they won't learn from it. I imagine you mean they won't dwell on it. They'll (hopefully) take their lessons and apply them. They were spanked. That's NOT acceptable. That's not forgotten. It should not be forgotten, until there's something to make it forgotten and that's not time. It's performance.

Candle has addressed the problems through recruiting, JUCO's, and transfers. The problems were there all season and visible in most games. Good things ahead!

So you predicted the slaughter and the skunk? Must have made a fortune in Vegas. What happened in that game isn't addressed by recruiting. We already had talent that far surpassed the competition.

I can understand why the coaches might want to look forward rather than dwell on that disaster; however, I hope they did take enough time to see what wrong in preparing for that game and take steps to ensure that it doesn't happen again. They evidently didn't learn the lesson of the Akron farce a few years back that cost them a bowl invitation-----and this one was like that Akron game on steroids. Hopefully this one got their attention sufficiently to be remembered in the future.

Logan is on the NFL Network right now.
Caught a couple of his rankings:
5th in the 40 - 4.79 I believe
3rd in the vert

Keeps moving up draft boards. I see him drafted 5th round or later. Don’t know anything about Ola’s times at the draft

51 Rushes for 178 yards
Out of those rushes 144 yards for a loss.
Do the math.
He slid more than Maury Wills in one season.
But a conservative coaching staff made sure he did that.
Canada may be calling.

Rockets didn' t sign 4 OG's, 6 LB'ers, 4 DE's with 4 JUCO's and 5th Yr Grad Transfer just for fun. UT's talent on the interior OL, DE, LB didn't surpass the competition.

Even if I were to grant you that, you think that results in a skunk? How much did their talent in those positions surpass ours, NFL level? A D3 team scored more on them.
What happened on that day does not get solved at the recruiting. No way. No how.

22 yds rushing and 4 QB sacks. UT kept getting beat inside and couldn't pick up blitzes because of personnel. The OL has deteriorated since the 2014 season and it's not really been been at the Tackle positions. When Kareem's yds per carry dropped from about 8 yds to almost 5, you knew something was up. Woodside has been able to cover up a number of the OL shortcomings.
On Defense last season, the Rockets had only one All MAC player and it was 2nd team. Particularly problems at DE and LB. These are talent issues and how far they go down the depth chart. I'm the guy that watches Rocket FB games over and over. Problems have been very apparent through out the season. Rockets benefitted from a weak MAC last season, so its weaknesses weren't as glaring during Conference play. Candle and staff have certainly addressed these issues in recruiting. I expect the Rockets to be a more dominant team over the next few seasons and the program taking another big step after winning the MACC. I don't see Candle as a HC that will be satisfied with just MACC's. Go R-R-R-Rockets!!!

RE: Logan Woodside pro prospects
the nfl is no longer about "the best players". we saw that with sam bradford and a host of other qbs who dont deserve a contract the last two seasons.
the karma tank hit the nfl really hard because of this
hopefully woodside gets a real shot

Of course it does. When your guys aren't fast enough to close gaps against outside zone teams, you get players that can.
