So....................
Anybody know when was the last time UTC finished last in the SoCon conference standings? I'm sure it's happened, but I bet it's been a *miiiighty* long time.

And former Moc coach Matt McCall and his UMass team currently in the cellar of their conference, tied for last place.

I was curious so I went back and looked and UTC has NEVER finished dead last until this year. However, they did finish last in the North Division in 2012, but the Citadel had two more losses that season so they technically finished last overall. Pretty remarkable, especially after having 29 wins just two years ago. McCall really ran that team into the ground.

Here is their history in case you are interested:

Thanks. At the time I posed that question, I had forgotten how recently they had joined Div. I, so this answer is not surprising. Pretty amazing.

RE: Official SoCon Tournament Thread (non-ETSU games)
For those that enjoy betting (MEEEEE), clearly the two best values here are ETSU and Wofford:

UNCG: +195
Furman: +210
ETSU: +275
Mercer: +650
Wofford: +1400
Samford: +10000
W. Carolina: +10000
Chatt: +30000
Citadel: +50000
VMI: +70000

Wofford as a 14-1 (with Mercer as 6.5-1) is absolutely criminal. Additionally, ETSU sinking to 2.75-1 is crazy (even with the three game slide). The way you have to look at betting value, for those that don't do it often, is think about it this way: Is Mercer more than two times more likely to win the tournament than Wofford? Is UNCG 7 times more likely to win it than Wofford? No way. Now, I'm not saying Wofford will win, but they certainly represent value. Same with ETSU to a lesser extent - is UNCG 1.5 times more likely to win it? I think not. Just an interesting tidbit for you guys.

I've considered putting 50-60 bucks on ETSU and 15-20 on Wofford. May still do it...

Yeah, it's fun to. Now, could UNCG or Furman win, despite not being the "value" bets? Of course. But, picking the best values consistently week after week generally pays off. Betting from your "Heart" is literally the stupidest thing you can do in gambling.

Looks like Karl Hess is calling the Chattanooga Samford game?

Whoa. London went for 25 and 14, with 2 blocks, 4 assists, and 3 steals.
Looks like he's permanently abandoned his ETSU phase and is now playing solid Moc ball.

Justin Coleman had 15 freaking assists for Sammy.

UTC looked like an NBA team in the first round.

Citadel only down 1 at half - although I suspect we know how that may play out. But one never knows, right?

13 first half turnovers have Mercer in a very tough spot, down 37-21. That might be the most 1st half TO's in the Hoffman era.

Mercer had better wake up somebody besides Jelks who has 14 of their 21 polnts.

Not looking very good. Ran out of magic without Ria'n Holland and his 19 a game. Cummings in the tourney environment led to 0/5 shooting with 3 turnovers.
