Kinda like the people who use that "Earned" Income tax credit (don't get me started....) and blow it on video games or a "vacation" instead of using it to buy necessities or God Forbid save it for a rainy day, THEN turn around and cry poor.

I think the foodie thing has two branches - the one you're both referring to are people who eat organic soy tofu every other meal and act like having anything with GMOs or certain ingredients will make you fat and get cancer, and they're better than you because they've seen the light. I can't stand that either.

On the other hand, I know other people who'd describe themselves as 'foodies' but it mostly just represents that they like cooking interesting foods or going to establishments that serve it. Twenty years ago you couldn't find a ton of ethnic places aside from Mexican and Chinese, nowadays (and I think it's definitely an urban-led phenomenon for now) the proliferation of specialty or restaurants representing obscure cuisines gives people a chance to explore their tastes. Most aren't annoying about it, but anyone claiming they're more cultured because of this interest or who post every damn meal on Instagram are.

On another note that Kap will likely agree with, people who don't get over to the side for emergency vehicles or let other people in to get over. Happened yesterday in rush hour and it pissed me off when some jackasses decided that staying in the left lane ten more seconds was worth slowing down an ambulance.

it definitely is overhyped, but i wouldn't call it a scam. it's nice to buy something and see very little ingredients. i think everyone would agree with that. it's also nice to know that your produce isn't sprayed with chemicals. who's to say that the jury isn't still out for whether gmo's and such aren't actively affecting us. with that said, gmo's are definitely the way to feed the planet. i'm not an extreme earth warrior, more of an explorer and i don't shy away from gmo's but i try to adopt organic and locally first. you can most certainly make it affordable too. you just can't fall for every gimmick, which is what gives organic a bad name to begin with. and it's only a bad name because the majority of the world thinks you're trying to be different on purpose. why can't someone just try to live as healthy as possible without being ridiculed?

of course there's the argument that since the population of the world was compelled from the get go to increase that it's only inevitable (and natural) for us to find creative ways to feed the perpetual surplus

I take great joy in a properly snow-blower cleared driveway. Then the city plows a ridge at the bottom of the driveway. That grinds my gear.

I live in a townhouse unit, and the association tried to charge me for damage to the landscaping by my dog (by doing it's thing in the grass I'm sure). If only I had a dog. My coworkers who know about that still refer to my invisible dog.

My dad died at 89. My MIL just turned 87. Do you think these two people cared about GMOs or organic?

Man, you people better stop being so afraid to die. It will come even if you eat like a rabbit. I know people that smoked like chimneys and live to a ripe old age. Soy Foy, only Libturds carry that banner. Us people like Stinky, Kaplony, me, don't give a crap about Vegetarian diets, we'll eat almost anything and watch us live to 90.

What I would love to eat and learn from experience is the art of eating wild plants and bugs, like early man did. It will come to that. Poor bugs, it'll be them hiding from us.

I'm on the other side of that argument. I wish I could see more people out and about in my HOA community. It seems like a ghost town with no one to be seen. If it wasn't for my next door neighbors kid who can't stand still it would be like a graveyard. He's out there riding his motor bike, playing basketball, football and anything that can keep him busy. I actually think he's got ADD. I guess my friends and I had ADD too because we couldn't sit still. LOL
