I think that was the year before? When Antonio Barton winked at the camera shooting those FTs

We beat them at home in 2013-2014 when joe had that block on the Gonzaga big. We actually hosted college gameday for that Gonzaga game

Last year we beat South Carolina by 16, after which they proceeded to advance to the Final Four. Pretty sure they were missing their best player but that's a nice win.

We were playing well at that time but missing their star who almost singlehandedly willed them to the F4 would be like playing Memphis without Penny, Lee, etc. he was that valuable to SC.

I would also say that beating South Carolina last year was a great win even though they were missing their best player.

My OPINION only:

1. He's a great recruiter and promoter of a program.
2. He's a good basketball mind and leader.
3. He's a below average to bad X/O coach who had trouble relating to local kids., which frankly is less important that the others.

If he had the sense to hire his own Robic for X/Os and an Antonio Anderson type to be his hammer on the bench, he's still here and we've looking at a solid team with 2nd weekend aspirations.

Again, my OPINION only, there are (rare for me) no FACTS in the posts above

I don't know about his basketball mind or knowledge of X/Os and the fact that he's still not doing great at Georgia Tech kind of makes his ability or lack thereof to relate to "local kids" irrelevant (and probably his ability to recruit those kids belies an inability to relate to them anyway).

He just was not a very good leader and not a very good decision maker, both in that he was consistently indecisive, and tended to make bad decisions when he made them, and he seemed unable to recognize his own strengths/weaknesses and hire a staff that could/would complement him.
