There are lots of reasons to dislike the NRA. This isn't one of them.

It looks like the NRA's gun safety education didn't work in the Nikolas Cruz case.
Besides, why are we allowing a gun advocacy group to push firearms onto our kids in schools?
Nothing works all the time. Some things never work. Like sex reassignment. Cut a dick off, still a dude. Just dickless now. But even with that 100% failure rate you support it.

I disagree. The real problem I have is that there are many that seek to normalize kids with guns. That is a problem.
You are correct, that the program in question was 'sporting' related, but they didn't seem to have a problem with the kid talking about his AR-15 at the events. Its the validation that 'a random teenager with an assault rifle' is a good thing that's a problem. An AR-15 isn't a hunting rifle (at least if you're not a douchebag who hunts in stocked fields, etc.), its not a friggin' target practice rifle used in international competitions either.
The NRA is an advocacy organization, dedicated to the proliferation of guns by just about everyone.

ROTC is voluntary Tom.
Again, why do we allow the NRA to push gun funding to our kids.
I’ll say this much Tom, had my son been in that school, with access to a firearm, the chances are the random six minutes of shooting would not have lasted near that long. Not saying kids should carry firearms in schools but what I am saying is the shooter felt no fear in getting his own guts spattered all over a wall.
Now as for your harping on training, you’re just ignorant. I’m sure you are for sex ed and I guarantee more children in this country will be more adversely affected by unwanted pregnancies and STDs than firearms violence. So maybe by your logic we should get rid of sex ed because sometimes it doesn’t work. Brilliant.

Nikolas Cruz trained by NRA funded program
The title of the thread could read "Public Schools Trained Tom on Performing Deviant Sex Acts". Would be just as accurate.

The NRA isn't primarily focused on safety. Its primary mission is the proliferation of firearms.
Shorter response.....lets just arm all the high school students, right?

As soon as you said normalize you lost your argument. The person who thinks it's normal for a boy to dress as a girl and vice versa, or allowed to have sex reassignment surgies is telling us what's normal.
What's life like on the planet you're from?
I thought ROTC is military based and was taught to young men and women to show respect to each other, superiors, and their
Country.
Didn't realize it was a branch of the NRA.

So was his legal, background checked purchase of his rifle over a year ago.

They are not gun funding Tom, they are not giving guns to kids. It is gun safety, gun operations and indoor target practice with air rifles. There is some non profit that funds black schools so kids can go snow skiing and camping and people complained they were trying to indoctrinate them to being more "white" lol.

Rifling and pistol are olympic sports. Those athletes probably started young. In other countries the shooting clubs also get funding, but it's directly from the government. It's not like they took the AR-15 to the competitions or practiced with them.
Again, at these events what did he say about the AR-15? It just said that he liked to shoot it, which a lot of people do, and that he shot it outside of the program.
The NRA funding this team and sport is not the reason why this kid shot up a school. I don't like the NRA for other reasons, but this isn't one of them. The NRA is gun agnostic. They don't have much to do with why people even want AR-15s.

He lives in a world of perpetually upset... I'm not bothered in the least by offending some who thinks that "offense" is currency.

Obviously, the NRA plan to normalize gun use among our children needs to be looked at.
Compare political contributions from the NRA from other organizations. NRA is nowhere near the top and isn't buying anybody.
