The shortest path might be for four schools to add rowing programs to rescue Alabama and Tennessee from the Big 12 - it doesn’t help those schools with men’s soccer or men’s lacrosse, but if four of LSU, Florida, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Missouri, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State, all added rowing and men’s soccer it would get SEC men’s soccer off the ground (joining South Carolina and Kentucky).

Alabama and Tennessee would need to add Rifle or Triathlon as a women’s sport (Kentucky has a mixed rifle program) and then add men’s soccer. Florida would need to do the same to add men’s lacrosse.

This would allow everyone else to add men’s and women’s lacrosse as a pair.

The thing about rowing is that you really need a nice, safe, and clean body of water nearby to make it feasible.

Tuscaloosa and Knoxville both sit on large navigable rivers. UA's rowing facility is technically on campus as the city transferred a riverside park to UA a few years back. I imagine Tennessee has something similar although I don't know.

But yeah, if you don't have a good sized body of water nearby then fielding a rowing team could be quite a feat. I know there are some other SEC schools that are located near water like that, but there aren't a ton of them.

Broad River is 30 minutes away from the University of Georgia. If the Dawgs could set up a boathouse on that river, they would be set.

Would love to see Vandy add a softball team. Then we'd have an even number and scheduling would be a little easier. As much as its on TV now, softball may end up being a decent revenue sport.

I think we'd benefit from a hockey league as it would tap some new spheres around the country.

You know what else might be fun? Water polo...

What do you need for that? A big pool? You might even be able to use the same infrastructure that's present for swimming and diving. Even if not, all you have to do is build an extra pool or two, can't possibly be expensive.

I don't know about the other SEC schools, but UA needs a new natatorium anyway so might as well do it right while we're at it.

Liberty just christened our new natatorium this past month which cost $20M. I am not sure who the architects were but having a bowl-shaped set-up for 1400 spectators is pretty sweet.
