What Strong should have said:
Quote:[Strong] also joked that some recruits still need a little help in knowing exactly who the Bulls are.

"'Weren't y'all the team that went undefeated?'" some would ask him.

"Why, yes we were."

Man, I will say that has to be the toughest schedule of all the NC FBS teams. It should be an easy to determine next year if Coach Mo is the answer. Or, if the new defensive coaches were a good hires.

3-2 by the end of Sept would be about the best possible.

ECU staring at 3-9 if they can manage not to have a major screwup. Stealing Tulane and Cincy would get them to 5-7. Looks like Mo will be gone unless UNC sucks worse than ECU this year.

CFN's Peter Fiutak has a really good analysis of our conference's important games. Check link collegefootballnews.com/2018/02/daily-five-american-athletic-football-schedule-what-actually-matters

RE: 2018 Football Schedule
Memphis

9/1 Mercer
9/8 @ Navy
9/14 GA State
9/22 South Alabama
9/28 @ Tulane
10/6 UConn
10/ 13 UCF
10/20 @ Mizzou
10/27 bye
11/3 @ ECU
11/10 Tulsa
11/16 @ SMU
11/23 Houston

Schedule sets up nice. Even if we lose at Navy, should be no worse than 5-1 heading into UCF game. Tough 2 game stretch (UCF, road game vs SEC team w/ a good offense) but the bye week after that. Then, 3 winnable games before playing Houston. Our AD said we'll have 2 ABC games and I'm betting Houston on Friday after Thanksgiving is one of them.

I love my Pirates with a passion... but we're going to go 3-9 at best. NC A&T, ODU, and UCONN will be W's. We will lose the other 9, and Mo will be shown the door.

Devil's advocate...

Isn't it equally as bad that these recruits didn't know it was UCF that went 13-0?

No

Yes

RE: 2018 Football Schedule
Cincinnati is primed for a rough start to the season with a tough OOC. Thankfully we start with some of easier AAC teams before heading into the meat grinder. I do think Cincy got about as favorable of a conference schedule as possible though which I'm thankful for heading into another rebuilding year (which will hopefully be the last). Bowl eligible is possible...

A weak pac12 team, 2 MAC's and an fcs is a tough OOC?

For a team QB'd by Hayden Moore it is 03-lmfao

Plus Ohio U and Miami will be pretty good next year and you can never sleep on a Chip Kelly team, the guy is a phenomenal coach.

Navy football will travel a total of 26,496 miles in 2018, the second most in FBS. Only Hawai’i (38,578 miles) will travel more.

I love how we get our day after T-giving away games at Memphis. Get stuffed with turkey on turkey day, then get stuffed with pork ribs the next day after the game, win or lose. 02-13-banana

I know I dont care much for the red raiders but I'm glad we've been scheduling them more often.

That being said if we begin our season with a bang on offense I like to believe we're Peach Bowl bound.

The G5 rep probably goes to the Fiesta Bowl this year since the Peach hosted last season and both bowls have at-large slots. The Cotton is hosting a semi-final.
