RE: Mumblings
If Bill Laurie has just realized the state of the program is 'unacceptable' we are in deep due due.

Why do you think he has "just realized" it, as opposed to knowing it for awhile?

Because it hasn't been at this level since the Tic Price days, maybe even the Wayne Yates days. The ONLY thing which has kept us from a losing season was the fact we had one of the weakest OOC schedules in the country this year. And we still needed some help and luck in winning at least two of those games.

Actually, there's another thread about someone determining we've been "lucky" pretty much all year-hitting teams when their starter is injured, etc. If this is what Lucky looks like, I don't any part of Unlucky.

The Yates era at least included an NCAA bid and a couple of NITs. First round exits in all three, but I'd still rank it ahead of we are currently enduring.

Was very clear. His boss was standing at the end of his row. He heard people giggling and ask what was going on. They said that someone over heard Bill Laurie mumbling under his breath the word unacceptable as he left

That's not what it says. You are inferring a lot there.

Maybe we have finally found the final straw which broke the camel's back and we can end this experiment soon.

You can look at the stats we're generating and not get overly upset.
It's a rebuild year!!!

But when you actually view the product on the floor, it's a different story.

The fields for both tournaments were much smaller back then, too. Per wiki, the NCAA field size varied from between 22 and 25 teams from 1953 to 1974, with the field expanding to 32 teams beginning in 1975. The NIT had only 16 teams from 1968 thru 1978, with the field growing to 24 teams in 1979.

Advancing past the 1st round was often more difficult back in the 70s. One could easily argue that the combined NCAA and NIT fields in the 70s was quite a bit stronger than the current 68 team NCAA field in modern times.

Could of been a hotdog who knows. But it was interesting to my boss. I'm only mentioning this cause other posters noted people seeing Bill walk out. Could be nothing.
I hope it's something.

All this who-said-what-and-why and will-he-or-won't-he stuff on the board is some high class gossip.

We need a good soothsayer. Maybe someone can sacrifice a goat outside the forum and read the entrails next home game.

I hope this is true. Financially this is the only way I see Tubby not back next year. 10 million would have built the original IPF. That kind of money is hard to come by the University. Maybe he is so miserable he will settle for half or less and move on to greener pastures.

What will end up being a 100 post thread based on someone (maybe Laurie) mumbling and “my cousin knows a guy”. Pure BS.

...and our best player at the center position (potentially ever and I am including William Bedford) dying mid-season with Stevens-Johnson syndrome(see at https://www.commercialappeal.com/story/s...5535936/). He was a very special player on a team that lost its heart and soul.

I can’t believe we actually have a thread about some mumbles...sad state of affairs for us Tiger fans.
