You have a problem with an uninspiring, Wannabee High School Gym?

Best: The Palestra

We should have made it the Eastern home of the AAC basketball tournament. Too late now.

I forgot Kemper Arena in KC. I watched the WSU vs KU game in the 1984-85 season. Here's a blurb from the Wichita Eagle:

Ron Kellogg made 14 of 17 shots for a career-high 30 points in Kemper Arena. McDaniel finished with 29 on a night when there was so much pushing and shoving that both coaches earned technicals complaining about the rough play.

That actually would've been kinda cool. Would make for a pretty good crowds if games were played with any combination of Temple, UConn, Cincy, Memphis, and Wichita that had good teams. Not sure how many would come from Texas or FL to watch their respective schools, but I know those 4 + the hometown team would all have a decent amount of fans when their teams are good. 8700 seat arena w/ history is a good setting.

I've been here for nova games, tennis matches, and highschool bball

Perhaps they changed it, or got renovated, because I stopped caring about Nova once I went to ECU, but that place was a dump! I remember when it had wooden bench bleachers, if you sat up too high, pipes and other things blocked the score board. It's old and out dated. Terrible lighting. Even used to have a running track around the court lol. I am pretty sure they held gym classes there. Literally worse than minges. It was so small time for an insanely rich area, with a great fans, that was supported by all the rich communities surrounding it. Pathetic!

Best: liacouras center

Been for temple games and concerts

They serve beer here, even craft. They have a bunch of different food options, like 10x better than minges terrible options. Obviously the food is way over priced but there are cheap options right out on broad. There are no bad seats, bonus is they rarely sell out so scout open seats and just move, no one ask to see your tickets. The bad parts are obviously it's not in the greatest location and parking sucks. But inside is really nice for a college venue

I graduated from HS in the Pavillion. It really is a dump, but they're renovating it this year.

We're very lucky to have such a beautiful arena.

Allen Fieldhouse is definitely my favorite. Such an incredible place to watch a game.

Florida and Florida State both have/had really crappy arenas, but UF at least renovated theirs recently.

we should just make central Connecticut state host it.

finally a gym that will sell out no matter who is playing.... even a game between ecu and usf will sell out at this gym. 05-stirthepot

Palestra (Penn)
McGonigle Hall (Temple)
Liacorous Center (Temple)
Hershey Arena (saw Temple beat Notre Dame there)
Also saw Temple in a small gym on campus before McGonigle was built but can't remember the name of it. They played teams like Rider there.

Attended a concert at Villanova in the Pavillion.

Small radius. One rooting interest.

That's right, South Hall. Maybe had 1000 seats. When freshmen could not play varsity ball, they played their games at South Hall as well. I think the place got knocked down 20 or more years ago.

Can't find much about it, but I saw something that said it had 200 seats.

for me it was st johns on campus arena. . the seats that are in the upper decks hurt ur back and are awkward to sit on. Good luck getting a snack. they have like 2 concession stands for 6k people? I expect a much larger arena for a program like st johns. (IK they play some of there games at the MSG but still..)

BEST:
Ted Constant Convocation Center (Old Dominion)
Not the biggest, but everything about it is first-class. If I could uproot it, paint it purple and gold and move it to Greenville tomorrow, I would.

Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum "The Joel" or "Joel Coliseum"
Wake Forest University

Though she's getting up there in age, the Joel gave me countless childhood memories with my dad, going to see the Deacs play. Love that arena.

WORST:

I love ECU... but BESIDES Minges? 03-lmfao

Most arenas I've been to have been pretty good. I'd say the 2 on the lower end of the spectrum are:

Winthrop Coliseum (Winthrop)
It was dark, steep, and nothing about it was comfortable to me.

Millis Athletic Convocation Center (High Point University)
Just screams "small time".
