He had a player just as athletic on him but who was taller and had longer arms and who was fundamentally strong defensively. And they were able to give help without actually completely leaving their own guy.

So exactly how HAVE'NT we fallen off the map already... our attendance sucks, our season ticket renewals is about to suck even more, our coach either can't or won't recruit, we're talked about less and less on radio even locally, haven't been to the tournament in 4 or 5 seasons and last but not least at least half of our games are no longer even on tv even on obscure channels but only can be found or watched online. No actual broadcast. Hard to say we haven't fallen off the map in my eyes.

Sorry, WSU is not borderline top 25 in any sense of the phrase. Great coach, very good guards and good bigs that are improving. How in the hell do you figure borderline. They are just not used to what we faced in the 63 game winning streak. Everyone's Super Bowl in conference except Cincy and us. Won't see that in NCAA.

They are not at top 10-15 team THIS year. They are currently sitting at 22 and have lost 3 of 5. They struggled with an outmanned Memphis team last night until the final 5-6 minutes. THIS year at THIS time I would say they are a borderline top 25 team. That is always subject to change but they are no juggernaut THIS year.

That is why I laugh when people say that Gregg Marshall proves that you can win with players that aren't highly ranked, and that Tubby can do the same.

Marshall put a bigger player on Martin, knowing that Martin wouldn't be able to break him down on the perimeter and would have trouble shooting over him. When Martin did drive you had at least 2 other defenders jump into the lane, knowing that Martin would most probably try to finish, and even if he didn't, that kicking the ball out to an inevitably poor 3 point shooter wasn't going to hurt them. That might turn out to be the blueprint for every team we play from here on out. I don't think it will matter who you put on Johnson, Nickleberry or Brewton, they aren't going to hurt you too badly.

Gregg Marshall proves that Gregg Marshall can win without players that are highly ranked. In the last 6 seasons not including this season, Marshall has 1 Final Four, 1 Sweet 16 and 9 NCAA wins. In the last 12 seasons including this season, Tubby has 1 NCAA win.

You can't compare the two because their results are not comparable in any way.
