Troy endzone facility rendering/progress
I'm sure its due to photo angles but my immediate mental image was a guy trying to catch a pass in the back of the endzone and his momentum carrying him through one of those windows.

Arena football-esque...but it looks to be a good 5-7 yds beyond the boundary...Plexiglas is our friend...I think?

RE: Troy endzone facility rendering/progress
The opposite endzone is short beyond the boundary also, but there haven't been many occasions where a player's momentum carries them into the brick wall. The new endzone facility will actually have more space between the building and the boundary than the opposite endzone... so I don't forsee there being many problems.

RE: Troy endzone facility rendering/progress
For those that have been to Troy in the past:

On the North end of the stadium, there was a concrete sidewalk out the back of the endzone well off the playing surface and media area. The new NEZ complex is set further back than that sidewalk, so there should not be any issues at all with the spacing.

The end line box is about three feet wide, then another couple of feet for the media area, then a larger space to serve as a buffer.

Back when we were trying to be FBS on a FCS budget and mindset...03-puke
..10+ years ago, one of A-State's leading receivers was thrown a ball in the back of the endzone...ran right into the stone retaining wall around our field...broke his wrist and was out for the rest of the season.
Bad part is we fans had been complaining this was going to happen for years. University finally put protective padding up after his injury.

Does look close. I visited the campus years back and I recall there being a lot of room on that end of the field. Wasn't it possible to have more room for the end zone facility?

The facility uses up all of that space.

Here's some interesting tidbits:

Georgia State will have the largest video board in the Sun Belt, as well as the largest in the G5. They actually have the 10th largest video board in the entire FBS at 5,600 sq. ft. of actual video space.

Troy will have the second-largest video board in the Sun Belt at 3,150 sq. ft., to go along with the 1,250 sq. ft. video board on the opposite side of the stadium.

Both Troy and Georgia State will have the largest primary video boards out of the Sun Belt, CUSA, and MAC.

Largest video boards in G5 by video space sq. ft.:

1. Georgia State - 5,600
2. Memphis - 4,512
3. Colorado State - 4,200
4. UCF - 4,104
5. Cincinnati - 3,534
6. Troy - 3,150

Troy is building its new end zone facility, the big board, and generally nice facilities all around. Proud for you. Do you have a local sugar daddy, the state, or doing well on general contributions for your improvements?
