If pearle ever became a coach at Memphis, the NCAA would fry us.
We would have ABSOLUTELY ZERO leniency or wiggle room with any type infraction.

So you don't think Memphis in the past 10 years have ever made it worth a player's while to come here? Or at least "had a guy who knows a guy..."

You know, just thinking out loud it doesn't make a lot of sense for someone like Will Barton or Shaq to come here with no other ties to Memphis and play for a coach who had absolutely no cache as a head coach.

Kindly provide the OFFICIAL NCAA link to that game.

Yeah i’ll Wait for that link as well. Can’t believe ppl still bring up a preseason loss to compare it to an actually game that counts and a conf game at that. Smh.

Dude...it was a game that the teams played. There were refs, there was a time clock, they called fouls, and they kept score. Just because it did not count in the record does not mean it did not happen. You don't play a game if you don't intend to win it, even if it doesn't "count".

Finch lost to Athletes in Action. That has as much to do with yesterday as the CBU game.

At least when the prior h.c. lost to ECU the Pirates were only #154, #224, and #190 (at home) in KenPom.

While I agree with you, a number of people on this board have said they don't care about vacated wins, probation or anything else, as long as they can win a lot of games and enjoy the moment.

There's a difference between being 'clean' and being criminal. Calipari's the best cheater in college basketball but even he got our best season vacated.

Pastner proved you can recruit here the clean way. Think about it, he really did with his early classes. The problem was that he sucked as a coach and communicator, and was flat out weird. If you give those same players, recruited about as legally as possible in today's environment, to a better coach, we could have made some serious noise.

But I guess it comes down to one's personal code.

Paz rode X' s success to really good recruiting classes

He busted his ass and had a red hot brand to sell.

Marginal coaching eventually caught up to him.

I enjoyed the he'll out of the '85 FF and the '08 run to the NC game.

They happened.

Tired of hearing this BS about Cal. How would you like to be declared guilty without a jury trial? It’s my understanding that all DRose had to do AFTER NC game was go answer some questions from NCAA and if properly answered, say like UNCs players recently, they have NOTHING TO WORK WITH to vacate or probation.

Dana got caught but the conspiracy theories keep getting larger.

This is nothing new. Davenport has 16 assists for the entire season (compared to 42 turnovers). That's 16 assists in 23 games.

He didn't get his 1st assist this season until the Mercer game....the SIXTH game of the year

Martin and Parks are the only two, again, that realize it is gameday and there is a game to play that require their physical efforts. Martin has been wired in all season and Parks, to his credit, has had the light to come on. The rest???? Same effort same mistakes, same standing around looking and watching 3pt shooters light them up, unchallenged, like a Christmas tree game after game. Losing to Cincy is one thing, but, this kind of loss is indefensible...even for this fan.

When you refuse to put any effort into recruiting like Grandpa does, these kinds of losses are going to happen.

You are putting the blame on the wrong people when you blame the players. They are what they are. For the most part, they are not Memphis level players, talent wise. It is not their fault that they aren't more talented.

You need to focus the blame on the person who put these players on our roster.

Rumor is Shaq's mom and Nichol's dad received some funds. People call Cal a dirty recruiter yet he wanted Josh to come to KY with him to recruit.

If we get our rear ends handed to us by Wichita State, I'm afraid the ugliness will get even worse.

And that isn't like me. I'm an extremely positive person, but in this case, the only thing I'm positive about is that Tubby should retire while he's "ahead of schedule".

But wait. Tub got rid of the cancerous Lawsons who caused the collapse last year. Who will we blame this year?

The NCAA has issued no major violations against Pastner and there are no accusations from the media. The only possible spot on his record is from a dubious source and Pastner was cleared of wrongdoing. Pastner underachieved at Memphis his last two years, but he is clean and did recruit very well at Memphis.

Innuendo and unfounded speculation are no substitutes for credible facts and serves only to dishonor the rumor monger and unjustly sully the target’s reputation.
