AimHigh, I was in the same boat. They had two profiles set up for me. I had to get them to combine my points.

RE: ODAF Donations
Has anyone received a call from an ODU student athlete thanking you for your contribution? I was caught off guard this morning when a student athlete called thanking me. I was in a meeting and a little skeptical to say much when he started asking questions about talking about his sport and major. I felt it would be a borderline violation of NCAA rules to say anything.

I've had a meeting, breakfast, and lunch with ODAF members before but never had a student athlete call.

If this is allowed I feel terrible for blowing off the kid.

Well damn... I feel bad now. I was kinda rude to the kid thinking it was a scam at first. I have mix feelings if a student athlete should be contacting me. I could see this being a disaster with a star athlete and a big time donor talking with each other.

Just wait till you get calls from them asking you how pleased you are with your job and how much money you make (essentially).

I got called today by a member of the sailing team. He just said thanks for the support, asked if I had any questions, I said no and then he thanked me again. It caught me off guard but only because of the time they called.

ODU does the same thing with students on academic scholarship when you donate to the university. But the calls are typically during rush hour and those students are a bit more interested in asking you questions about your career and why you donate.

We have gotten the ODU calls for years and are pretty modest donors to ODAF so I don't know how or why you were missed in the past. Most schools do it JMU, VT, and ETSU are a few I know about. So I guess it is pretty common and definitely not violating any NCAA rules. The young man we heard from today seemed pretty good at it which has not always been true. Now on to beating MTSU!

A tennis player left me a thank you voicemail. I thought it was pretty classy. Many other schools do this as well. Its not uncommon.

Ahhh that's what that Norfolk # was I couldn't answer. Going to be tough getting a hole of many of us during business hours. I tried calling it back but it just rang.

And I got a call last year. I forgot who it was now but it was a dude from the football team. I was really caught off guard myself and he was like "any questions or anything you want to talk about?" I was about to run to a meeting and I was like.. ."uhhh not off the top of my head. Just go kick ass!" He laughed and was like "ok!"

Randy Haynes called me. I told him that he was my favorite player and I love how well he's shooting the rock.

I updated my office/ cell number sometime last spring. I've gotten calls in the past from ODU/AF but can't recall a student athlete calling.
