RE: MAC Basketball Week #3 (1/15 - 1/21)
I’m sick of hearing about refs. Look we all know they aren’t good. Did they miss calls against UB, of course they did. Did they miss calls against WMU, of course they did.
Let’s just celebrate a road win against a really good team and a 6-0 start.

Yup. Missed calls are part of sports. No one is trying to screw anyone

I see that Jaylin Walker has replaced Jimmy Hall as biggest Dbag in the MAC. Unbelievable he didn't get a technical to end the half

When you’re as important as UB the refs always look to screw you. UB could win by fifty and our friend would whine.
You're just saying that because he's RIGHT. Point to where he was wrong. POINT TO IT!

Six games in and Buffalo holds a three-game lead in the East and Toledo a two-game lead in the West. Can any other teams catch up to claim Division titles?

Yeah..... the division titles are pointless now. We should just drop them in all sports outside of football. But it really looks like.....
1) Buffalo
2) Toledo
Everyone else.........

Side note: the MAC is the only conference on the country that still has Division a for basketball. They need to go bye bye.

I thought that was Fletcher's job.
Walker got promoted when he wouldn’t leave the Toledo bench area and yelled in the face of several Rockets after he made a shot. He got the refs attention culminating in a T for Kent when they surrounded our guy shooting free throws and wouldn’t disperse. It’s tenuous, though-he may not even make probation. Plenty of guys looking to move up.

Miami with a decisive win against a good Ball State team today. The Coop years are no more.

Ball State is #299 in defensive 3-pt percentage. It showed today.

Real nice comeback win on the road for OHIO, especially after getting pasted by UT the other night.

walker spent the whole night talking trash. ut players, ut bench, fans, even told the concessions staff they couldn't cool him down with a large pepsi. personally, i don't care. he was hot and making tough shots and pumped up UT fans as fans. fletcher, a grad student known for his mature personality. had a mutual shoulder rubbing w a kent player after a whistle and played up to the home fans at the end, never taunting anyone. big difference. regardless, was a good game. kent came to play and overcame a tough start to battle and make plays. fun game. finally good to see a game the refs had a light touch with, few unnecessary calls. several possible technicals they avoided calling. both teams were passionate but ended the game with good sportsmanship.

That was part of it, but it was also just the second time this year that BSU has been held under 60. I'd credit it to our D more than anything.

I went after the Kent Bench as we hit final free throws to end the game... "Hey Kent Staff... Why don't you keep Walker off of our bench in a tied game at the half... Maybe he shouldn't piss of the home team with 20 minutes left".

P.S. I was following the Vegas line on last night's game. The line DROPPED from EMU -8 to -6.5. The only ones I'd think to bet on the Zips would have been disgruntled EMU fans. Lol.
Oh, right. Go over to the Zips fanboard and you'll see there's still people there that think the Zips will win the MAC
Just need to get healthy and catch a hot streak in March. Long way to go...

That and add four more quality scholarship players. We can't win with nine scholarship players. Back-to-back games in the conference tournament will be a nightmare for a team without depth or experience.

RE: MAC Basketball Week #3 (1/15 - 1/21)
The East went 4-2 against the west on Friday/Saturday to pull ahead 10-8 in the division battle.
Four more cross-division games up for grabs on tonight's slate:
Ohio @ Akron
Eastern Michigan @ Buffalo
Miami @ Central Michigan
Toledo @ Western Michigan
Ball State @ Kent State
Bowling Green @ Northern Illinois
BSU/KSU and Toledo/WMU look to be key games tonight. Toledo seems to be the undisputed # 2 team right now; tonight may be a good litmus test for how close to UB they are. Ohio/Akron could make for an interesting atmosphere, it's just a shame they're both down right now. Ten teams are either 2-4 or 3-3 right now so things are wide open. Tonight is as good a time as any to start making a run and improve tournament seeding at the end of the year.
