1. Freeze MLS From adding new franchise's beginning Jan 1 2024
2. Immediately begin negotiating for commercial television rights for 2nd and 3rd tier with the hope of television coverage by 2024.
3. Eliminate the concept of player contracts with MLS. Transfer all player contracts to clubs beginning in 2024. Eliminate the allocation order in which clubs are assigned Americans moving back from overseas, so players negotiate directly with clubs instead of league.
4. Promise FIFA complete transition to International Calendar by 2023.
5. Negotiate international TV rights for MLS beginning in 2024.
6. Loop in regular adult club leagues to create a 6 tier Soccer Pyramid by 2038.
Is he suggesting Tier 1 move to a Fall/Winter league? God save the Minnesota United fans. Might as well fold MUFC, Montreal, Toronto, and NE Revs if that is the case.
The suggestion is the entire soccer pyramid moves to the International Calendar. There's a lot of talk that FIFA is going to require us to do this at some point. We're working on a waiver that allows us to follow a more non traditional calendar, but we're also trying to get a World Cup here in 2026
The concept I've heard to this point is that the league would start in Early August, and would play straight through until Thanksgiving. Then the league would go dark in December and return the weekend after the Super Bowl with Northern Teams playing on the road for two straight weeks at Warm Weather teams
The reality is, we either play a stupid calendar and play the MLS Cup in December in awful weather opposite Conference Title games in the NCAA and The NFL Playoff race, or we play a normal calendar, with a couple colder regular season games and MLS Cup in Late May opposite the NBA Playoffs and MLB in great weather.
I think a lot of us forget that every major league in the World plays an international schedule, and some of those are in places far colder than anything we offer. They take a Christmas Break.

This also the fact Kyle is pandering to LA and NY (players returning talk directly to clubs) is sure to get him some support from the MLS bloc that has 14% of the votes.

I was under the impression that the MLS had already thrown their full support behind the white, female version of Sunil Gulati.

The ownership, yes. The players union also gets some votes too I believe.

Ownership, yes. However there are a bunch of MLS Players who are on the Athletes council and get votes. And with MLS/Gulati Supporters clearly all supporting Carter, he needs all the votes he can get.
I know the Washington Post is already reporting that Martino/Wynalda will likely combine forces after the first round of voting, especially if it shows Carter leading. Martino is really popular with Athletes and the Youth Soccer community. Wynalda is really popular with a bunch of state associations and the Adult leagues. There's a possibility that if they could convince their supporters to all pool together to vote for the same person, they might be able to squeeze enough votes to beat the establishment.

Swansea wins 2-1 Ending Wolves 14 match unbeaten Streak.
Looked more like our A- lineup today. 5 regulars in the First XI and 6 reserves.

Couple of great Copa Del Rey matches yesterday with both Atletico Madrid and Barca losing. Sevilla beat Atl Madrid and Espanyol beat Barca. The latter was derby that ended Barca's unbeaten streak. Freaking Alba got a yellow card and he didn't even play in the match.

So the United Soccer coaches Convention is in Philly this weekend. All the major voters in the election are going to be there, and it will include the only Presidential debate.
Some genius decided to pay for an advertisement truck to sit outside the convention for 5 straight days depicting an image of Sunil Gulati marinating a Kathy Carter puppet, with #Corrupt in big letters. That probably went over well.

So...Bruce Arena gave an interview today. He blamed the World Cup failure on every person he possibly could. Talked about "bad apples" within the national team, a "Weak" player pool, and a "poor" communications department.
He then said he only resigned because it's the coach's job to accept responsibility for failure...how noble of him.
