If you saw it pre-2005 there's no reason to remember it, it was one big set of concrete stands flanked by a bunch of aluminum bleachers. Then they tore down the aluminum for a permanent student side, scoreboard, and Cradle of Coaches plaza, and a decade later added on with an IPF and year-old football facility. It isn't anything phenomenal, but it's good place to see a game when we get a decent crowd.

Peden and the Glass Bowl are historic and will always have an intangible edge over the rest of the MAC in that regard, but the 'wings' are really tacky imo. I get why they're there, but enclose the end zone like a normal stadium instead of having two weird aluminum attachments added on like a third arm.

In both cases, it's just a matter of the history, not the stadium itself. Probably how I feel about ND, too, and to some extent, Michigan and Ohio State.

The Rose Bowl is absolutely spectacular. It's not just the stadium alone - it's the surrounding mountains and setting. To me, it's to college football fans what visiting Wrigley Field and Fenway Park are to baseball fans. That one is a MUST.

As much as I hate to admit it, the Big House is extremely impressive, too. I would actually put it over Notre Dame in terms of the overall experience (albeit that's probably because Ann Arbor is an incredible college town compared to South Bend despite Notre Dame's beautiful campus). I haven't been to the Shoe.

With the Rose Bowl its the setting, the parties before, the feel of the event. Sight lines are not that great. But its just a great environment.

Good analogy.

I've used a similar comparison: The Big East Tournament at Madison Square Garden is for the Big East what the Rose Bowl is for the Big Ten and Pac-12. It's their pinnacle & identity.

Question for everyone who's posted: how wheelchair friendly were the stadiums you've seen?

My list isn't too long.

Kidd Brewer (App State)
Doak Campbell (Florida State)
Memorial (Clemson); both for Clemson and the Panthers' first ever season in 1995
Paladin Stadium (Furman)
Carter-Finley (NC State)
Rhodes (Elon)
Ross-Ade (Purdue)

I've also been to stadiums at UNC, Duke, Indiana, Wake Forest, UNC-Chatlotte, Virginia, William & Mary, Richmond, Michigan, and Ohio State, but not for games.

I'm disappointed I didn't get to the App-Michigan game in '07 despite living less than 3 hours from Ann Arbor at the time, or to any of App's bowl games or FCS championship games.

I know Nippert, in being renovated just a couple of years back, is completely "wheel chair friendly." There are dedicated wheel chair seats at the top of the lower-bowl (it's below grade), but even the "East Side" upper deck now is reachable by pedestrian bridges and a new upper concourse.

Joan C. Edwards (Marshall) Stadium also has wheel chair dedicated seats and you can reach the main level via ramps...but I think the accessible seating is more limited in options.

Mountaineer Field (WVU) also has dedicated wheel chair seating on their main concourse. WVU has also recently renovated their stadium concourses to make them more accessible.

Can only speak to Yager, but pretty decent. If you look at the drone image link I posted on Page 7 you can see we have a flat area in front of the endzone complex, the ground ramps going up the bottom of the press box side lead to dedicated seating, and the east stands are at ground level for that first row with plenty of space around. The biggest problem is that there's a gigantic downward hill leading from the main parking lot to the stadium, but there's golf carts that take people around before and after the game.

None are particularly wheelchair friendly. Now its doable. One of our friends went to Mercedes Benz in the SEC ccg in a wheelchair. She also went to the Rose Bowl and got wheeled up close, but walked once she got there. At the ccg she got a spot in the front of the section to put her wheelchair. She didn't have that at the Rose Bowl. Athens is difficult. Its hilly. Once you are in the stadium there are elevators, but the aisles are narrow so its difficult to walk, let alone wheel. I think I remember spots for wheelchairs off the aisles around the stadium, but I don't specifically remember where.

I have attended quite a few games, but I have visited many more stadiums and campuses in my travels. I try to visit the stadium, and hope to walk in if a gate is open. Now that we have cell phone cameras, I take pictures.

Attended games:
Oklahoma
LSU

Rice
Toledo (yes, was there for work. Client took me to a Wednesday night game vs. Bowling Green)

Visited:
