As an undocumented person, what path to citizenship did he actually have that would have allowed him to be guaranteed to remain in the US the whole time?
Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 was in effect when he came to the US. Provided a path to residency for those illegal aliens who came here after January 1, 1982. The path was there...
Math issues?
He is 39, been here for 29 years. 2017 - 29 = 1988.
Your law...
Quote:Legalized illegal immigrants who entered the United States before January 1, 1982 and had resided there continuously with the penalty of a fine, back taxes due, and admission of guilt; candidates were required to prove that they were not guilty of crimes, that they were in the country before January 1, 1982, and that they possessed at least a minimal knowledge about U.S. history, government, and the English language.
Was the law updated/revised at some point that I'm missing?
I don't know what link you are looking at... but, from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services website.
Quote:Public Law 99-603 (Act of 11/6/86), which was passed in order to control and deter illegal immigration to the United States. Its major provisions stipulate legalization of undocumented aliens who had been continuously unlawfully present since 1982, legalization of certain agricultural workers, sanctions for employers who knowingly hire undocumented workers, and increased enforcement at U.S. borders.

so my point still stands. Math much?

Did she have a work visa when she came here? Just because she got away with it, shouldn't mean she should be exempt.

Is she here illegally? Or is it just that you have to hate all immigrants because some don't want illegal immigration.

She didn't need a work visa when she came here. She came here, legally, on a tourist visa. Then received, legally, a work visa.
Do you even Google?

Melania came here illegally. She didn't have a work visa and came here on a tourist visa, but took employment while here.

In 2001, she obtained a green card and became a lawful permanent resident of the United States. She married Donald Trump in 2005 and obtained U.S. citizenship in 2006.[5]
She is the first naturalized U.S. citizen to become First Lady of the United States.[6]
She is a citizen, best of luck deporting her leftists because she is married to Trump.

Exactly, she had access to millions of dollars in legal help and she's married to a hero of the white nationalists....so the rules don't apply to her.

I don’t feel any sympathy for him.
This is his doing, not the US Government’s.
