I wish we still had Porter healthy. Having back surgery and likely out for the season. Mizzou would have been awesome with him in the line up.03-banghead

I took a look at the standings this morning and realized there is not a bad team in this league. The only one with a losing record is Vanderbilt and that's a tournament team from last season that has underachieved thus far.

Kudos to Mizzou for how well you guys are playing without Michael Porter. For all the hype, and rightfully so, Trae Young, Marvin Bagley and DeAndre Ayton have gotten this year, Porter was right there, and to many, even higher-profile than those guys, as incoming freshmen. His brother has been a solid find for Mizzou. the Tigers look like a tourney team to me, even without Michael - very solid job out of the gate for Coach Cuonzo.

Yes, AllTide, our league is great. Vandy the only one with a losing record, and they were a consensus top 4-5 team by most heading into the season. When they "turn it on", they still play to that level, too, UK had their hands full with em, but always do when playing in the "Opera House"

I'm not looking forward to TCU playing there in the SEC/Big 12 challenge because Vanderbilt is better than I think they have put on thus far this year and the arena is awkward which gives them a nice home court advantage...especially since nobody on TCUs roster has ever played in that gym before.

I feel your pain, because of our famous/infamous roster turnover, we pretty much bring an entirely new team in there every year, and it's never easy. Heck, it's a tough place to play even with experienced guys. You guys have some terrific guards, that's what it will take to play well and win in that gym.

Well so far tonight Georgia picks up a close one in Baton Rouge, Mississippi State takes one at home against Vandy, and in their 6th try in conference the Aggies take a close one at home against Ole Miss. Congratulations 10th! Maybe now what was a really good team will start to play like it again.

I'm sure Blue Dynasty will be by in a bit with the Kentucky / South Carolina final. Right now the Cat's lead by 5 a little past midway in the 2nd half.

Wow! The Gamecocks came back at home to take down Kentucky 76-68!

Big win! The students were back in town finally and home court was definitely in our favor. It also helped that Kentucky only had seven scholarship guys available and got in heavy foul trouble. You take the wins where you can get them

Well Auburn left too many points at the charity stripe tonight and Alabama shot the 3 ball well tonight so the Tide wins at home. Florida led big over Arkansas and the Hogs ran out of time trying to get back in it. Missouri and Tennessee are just getting started.

Mizzou wins 59-55. Defense was off the charts, and the Vols were ranked 21st. Good for the resume. Missouri's 13th win, and 3-2 in conference play.04-cheers

I have been MIA with family stuff most of the week, but yes, tough loss at USC, UK has been shorthanded enough with injuries and now a nasty flu bug has been going around to compound things, USC is a tough enough place to play at full stength. Gamecocks with nice wins back to back, and really could have one of the best weeks overall of the season if they beat UT today.

Believe I saw where the Sagarin rankings now have all 14 of our teams in the top 89, Vandy being the team at 89. Quite impressive.

Well Georgia outscored Auburn by 14 in the first half and Auburn outscored Georgia by 28 in the Second half. That was a heckuva half of basketball by my Tigers.

Florida wins by deuce over Kentucky. A&M takes Mizzou in College Station. Tennessee is getting stronger and took down the Gamecocks, Vanderbilt took L.S.U., Arkansas knocked off Ole Miss, and Alabama held serve on their home court.

Bama was up 19 at the half and State had tied it with about 8 minutes to go if I remember correctly. Kind of lucky to win that one. I'm glad they showed some grit at the end, but I feel like they become a little complacent in the 2nd half.

It is hard to have mercy in college basketball. Too many points can be scored by 1 hot 3pt shooter in just a couple of minutes. All I can promise you is that we will respect Mizzou's abilities.

And the winners tonight are (1/23/18): Arkansas over Georgia, L.S.U. over A&M, Ole Miss over Alabama, Tennessee over Vandy, and Kentucky over Miss State.

RPI:
Auburn 9
TN 13
KY 17
Ark 23
Florida 26
Alabama 35
Texas A&M 37
Missouri 38

I'm guessing 8 teams safely in right now, and

Georgia 56
South Carolina 58

On the bubble.

10 SEC teams in the tourney? Plus Miss St, LSU and Ole Miss in the NIT? Whatever we are doing (manipulating schedule, etc) is working.

South Carolina takes down the Gators in Gainesville and Auburn blows Missouri out in Columbia 91-73. Auburn is now in sole possession of first place in the SEC.
