I would find it hard to laugh at the program that has had two seasons in the last 5 years your program can only dream about.

If you go back and look at the number of times a ranking has had someone different than the "official" champ and I use that term loosely then just about every ranking can be proven to have failed to crown the "correct" champion at some point or another. If you believe this four-team charade is proof of the true national champion then you are a bigger moron than I give you credit for, because whether the BCS, CFP or some other entity there has always been more subjectivity in the selection of teams than objectivity. Or in the very least the pool from which those entitities are willing to pull from restrict the amount of teams that could ever have access to them.

They have some complex that you have to pay your dues and do things by the book. But really they just hate anyone who tries out of the box things to raise the level of the program. They want to go 8-4 every year and just complain that the conference doesn't do anything to elevate them.
They hate when the metro schools have success and do big things that get attention because deep down they know they are not capable of that.

I deplore the term "butthurt" sounds like something that someone in middle school would say and I don't consider UCF the national champions but I do think it is ludicrous that an undefeated team at the FBS level has zero shot at playing for it. Until they make the playoffs, at least, an 8 team event there is not a legitimate champ.
The setup needs to be the 5 so called power leagues champions, you can eliminate the conference championship games, and take the regular season winners. Add the "best" G5 team and add 2 at large teams from the rest. This is not a perfect setup but much better than the current setup.

Would I have liked to have seen UCF in the playoff and actually win this year's NC, absolutely. It would have been good for all G5ers.

We all play by the same rules, even if unfair. Everyone understands the process for winning a NC, it ain't beating a 10-3 team in the peach bowl. Even if that team beat the #1 & #2 teams. Putting up banners, holding parades and claiming a national title that wasn't won just seems odd/juvenile. If UCF had finished #1 in AP poll, then yes. I would rather see UCF publicly try to discredit Alabama's NC by saying the country didn't get to see the best team play in the playoff that would have waxed the competition.

Seems to me that's exactly what they are doing. How else are they to discredit the CFP champion than to make poignant argument that there is another and that there is a split title?

What do you think UCF is trying to do??????? By staking a claim, by running a social media blitzkrieg, by throwing a parade, by hosting a downtown party that THOUSANDS attended, by going on national TV shows, by getting into every major national media, UCF is TRYING TO DISCREDIT THE SYSTEM.

And it worked! We received 5 1st place votes in the AP poll and we've received a large amount of support from national media, pundits, Hall of Fame coaches, the FL Governor, and now even Sir Nick Faldo is getting involved.

Do you really think ANY of this happens if UCF simply takes our Peach trophy, says "thanks!", and goes home? No. And that would have been a massive mistake. Our AD gets it.

Since then, there has been exactly one legitimately split title and that was 2003.

If Oklahoma State or Alabama are claiming these Colley Matrix titles as you're suggesting they are, I've seen zero proof of it. Did either of them throw parades? Hang banners? Pay bonuses to their coaches as if they'd won a legitimate title?

It's also interesting that you think I'm enraged, nothing could be further from the truth.

I deplore the term "butthurt" sounds like something that someone in middle school would say and I don't consider UCF the national champions but I do think it is ludicrous that an undefeated team at the FBS level has zero shot at playing for it. Until they make the playoffs, at least, an 8 team event there is not a legitimate champ.
The setup needs to be the 5 so called power leagues champions, you can eliminate the conference championship games, and take the regular season winners. Add the "best" G5 team and add 2 at large teams from the rest. This is not a perfect setup but much better than the current setup.

Even if there was an 8 team playoff this year UCF wouldn't have been a part of it...
