Easily one of the top 10 games I’ve seen in Trask. Frustrating too, but an instant classic.

Y'all pull me out of misery. I didn't expect Keatts type instant success but as a new alum and donor I'm extremely frustrated. Are we on the track for success or setting ourselves back? I'm inclined to believe the latter

Good teams find ways to win, bad find ways to lose. That said, I've been one of the most vocal here in regards to coach, but IMO it's a solid two games in a row. So let's see how the next few go

C'mon really? You had all non-conference play to complain about the direction of the team. Now that the team is showing signs of actual growth this is the time you decide to make a post like this?

That's fair man and I hope I'm wrong. Just the first time I've been on since davidson. Was honestly asking for your optimistic outlooks

RE: Northeastern
It was mainly one ref. In the first half he made one call against NU. And made like 85% of the calls that were made against us. He made the calls that got Cacok and Talley in foul trouble. But all three let #4 get away with pushes and arm extensions while handling the ball. Right at the end of the game he actually reached out and shoved Gary while holding the ball. That stuff was addressed with the rule changes last year. He was called once for an arm extension on a drive and he went off on the refs. And they never whistled him for it again.

RE: Northeastern
This year will be wholly dependent on whether Cacok and Talley can stay out of foul trouble and stay on the court. Especially Talley. When he goes out, our offense stagnates. Gary is a good shooter, but he isn't a PG. I'd prefer Brown play if Talley goes out or Taylor at the point and Gary at the 2. Gary passes around the perimeter when he is at PG and he stays at the top of the key, so our offense has no movement and passes are easily deflected or stolen. He also makes no effort to drive or score.

The fact is, we are competing now. If we can keep games close and stop big runs we can win games. If Taylor hits even 30% last night we win the game. Although he was money to get us in OT, he couldn't hit anything last night and he takes a lot of shots. NU also was obvious in being physical against Cacok and the refs let it go. He was fouled and pushed every time he touched the ball and they counted on the fact the refs wouldn't call it every time.

We were down ten with 3:36 to go and fought hard to send the game to OT. Proud of the team and effort, and we all can be encouraged by the emergence of Fornes.

2 big games this week @ Charleston and hosting Towson. If we continue in this positive direction I think we snag 1 of those

Agree. Now if we take a step back again, I'll be very concerned. Last two games have been much much better.

Both are bad match ups for us. I don't see us getting a W in those 2 games. NU was winnable, but we didn't quite get there.

Honestly, I'm not EXPECTING a win in either of those contests. I am however, expecting us to not just mail it in. I don't think a loss to either of those teams is a "step back" as some here continue to mention. Those teams are expected to be the top of the league this year, we are not. The only way I'd be disappointed is if we have a game similar to how we played Howard.

IMO, this team is getting better. There are starting to be a lot more signs of improvement and consistency. That's great, but it shouldn't change our expectations of the season to the point where if we don't get W's all of a sudden we're all back to "Chicken Little" mode that some folks are stuck in.

Let the freaking season play out. Let the guys play. Let the positives be positives and the negatives be negatives. There will be PLENTY of time after the season is finished to discuss program direction, etc.

I think one of the things that really allowed our guys to succeed at Elon was the fact they are playing with house money this year. It's clear this year that we aren't last year's Seahawks. Elon had all the pressure on them in that game, playing at home and being the favorite. The 'Hawks are in territory they haven't been at in a few years, they're the underdog in almost every matchup. I don't believe expecting a win at home against a very solid Towson team or on the road at Charleston is healthy for our state of mind as a fan base or for the team.
